I have 2007 volvo vnl780 with 599700 miles. I have this air leak happens while I am driving. Slowly goes down to 100 psi then goes back up to 120 psi and it continues to do that. There is a new air dryer, new fan clutch, new cabin air bags. However I cannot hear any air leaking when I stop. Also when I stop over night and leave the truck off I am down to 60 psi or below. What could be the problem?

Finally I just started my truck today after being off for a few days and now its making a squealing noise sounds like its coming from the fan area. Note it has been raining for the past 3 days.

    Thanks

Check under the cab (in the frame rail) for a box with air lines in it. Check it in the morning when cold and building air. I had a slow leaker like this on my 2004 volvo and it wouldnt show until early morning. Other than that, put a bullet in the volvo, I hate them since that truck and will never go back.

Maybe a level valve gone/going bad. It shouldn't bleed air out the exhaust port if the truck is parked sitting still. Let it build up air, shut the engine off, then go listen for an air leak under the fifth wheel.

Get a spray bottle with soapy water and with the pressure built up start soaking all your line connections and valves, it will be easy to spot.

chalstead, I agree with Mommas money maker. I have an 07 Volvo, had the same issue. I would lose air down to about 60 lbs in 20 min. or so. Found air valve across from transmission in drivers side frame rail that was leaking. Has 4 air lines coming in, 4 air lines coming out other side. Volvo calls this a "safety valve". Replaced it and air is now holding overnight. Mine was leaking all the time, hot or cold.
