I bet that pays the bills.

Why do you subject yourself to such abuse? Take the truck back, clean it out and move on.

Working for "coolie" carriers like PAM is the highway to no where.

    cudafish71 Thanks this.

I break my year contract and I'm on the hook for $6grand plus less than a year behind the wheel experience meaning I will be unhirable. I'll do what most new drivers do here, stick out my year then shake off the dust and look somewhere else. Several drivers told me the only way you can make money here is being a trainer. course they need those trainers because their turnover rate is so high.

I tried that trainer route after a yeah and half....3 requests sent in and never heard a thing back from them on the topic. I am much happier with the company I am with now. Better money, equip and communication. But finish out your contract, keep your nose clean and you will be able to land a much better company after you get some experience.

I can't stand my teammate. Hes a control freak and doesn't have but a month more time on a truck than me. Also he's retired so its extra money for him and not into running hard like I am. We managed 3799 miles. Now we're on home time cus he has to go to the doctor. I just got off home time on the 28th. 2 weeks out can't make any money like that.

Boy! im glad I decided on waiting on something else to come up. I had planned on going to school the same month as you but figured i would wait until next year sometime. I ended up getting a job with averitt express as a dockwork which sadly makes more than you in a week man. $214 a week is pathetic as a truck driver, And I make close to double of that a week driving a forklift and being home every night. Then again im working on an apprentice program with Averitt to be a combo driver for this in march of 2012. Anyway's man good luck with you adventures with pam and I would most certainly try to find a better company after your year. There are a few companies like Averitt express that will hire you before a 1year otr if you take their refresher course. I think companies like maverick will do also. And if your not into flat bedding they do have a reefer division now.

You need another co-driver. Dump the paid tourist.

    Gravdigr.
    $214 !
I operate a few trucks in South Africa.
Here my drivers take more then that after deductions with zero miles.
Actually we have to pay by the hour so miles don't really count according to the law but we pay bonuses on turnover.
That is low even by our standards.

    Enough asylum seekers here thanks.
Truth is more then half my drivers are asylum seekers.
No 1 destination in the world.
More than all 22EU nations combined.
Hard to believe until you consider ave wage is over 3 times what our neighbors to the north pay.
    They literally pay slave wages.
Makes it hard to compete with them.
I could never pay anyone that little , I would rather shut the doors.
