APU Info

i do have a freightliner coronado truck with an apu on it , but the perkins engine won't start , is cranking , one mechanic from pape machinery , in california checked and he said is the solenoid is bad , he said is got in a short circuit , or something like that, the apu is made by idle solution by temco, and the are out of business now, anybody have this apu please help! thank you !

 

Thermo King, Dynasys and Carrier are the big three out there. There systems are quite similar with Dynasys being the best priced and having multiple setups (generator and auto ac system). TK and Carrier have been around a long time and run yanmar and kubota engines...i think. Dynasys runs CAT. you just have to check them out. i have heard of Dynasys going for around 9000 and TK and Carrier for around 11000.

whatever system you get make sure it is installed properly and vents are setup good. airflow is key with apus. not sure how they line up with CA though. try to stay away from there as much as possible.
