All banning Bluetooth would.do is get rid of the blue parrot style headsets and wed all move to the small ones. With mine in my right ear. Throw a hat on and you can't see it at all. Hope they don't ban hats too.

This law would be similar to the no engine break laws. Some people might follow it. But most would just ignore it.

They gonna ban CBS next? Just as much of a distraction..

What next, no driving in your birthday suit?

When It's 2 am and your the only guy crossing the Texas Panhandle, some Tin Star sitting in a cruiser outside of Amarillo with Night Vision will Drop you and Cow-Tie your hands and feet, then stand proudly above you and issue a Careless Driving Violation from The Texas Highway Patrol.

We got pulled over near Van-Horn and my wife (passenger) was given a ticket for No-Seatbeat by the kindest State Trooper we ever met. He was hiding past the rest area. We stopped to cool the tires. He saw she was not wearing her safety restraint belt when we past him doing 65 mph. He told me "get back in the truck" while he grilled her for her log and permit book. She told him, "I don't drive"...That was my lucky day cause my log didn't show I stopped for a break at the rest area.

With that said, Banning cell phone may just another way of lightening you wallet with another "safety issue".

Ok then, what can be done to stop all the idiots ,that can't walk and chew gum at the sametime, from talking on their phones, hands free or not and driving an 80,000+ lb rig down our highways?

Should we just let it keep happening? Don't tell me you don't see this happening either. I see it happen 3-4 times a day (someone swerving around trying to talk on their phone in a truck) and we have 1/10 the truck traffic here in North Dakota then you see in other states.

Nothing. Making something illegal isn't going to stop people. It never has and it never will.

I take my previous statement back. Something can be done. That is to remove every single truck off the road. While were at it, we can remove every 4 wheeler off the road also.

Exactly. Just like with the ongoing debate about whether or not to outlaw guns. If guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns.

It's sad that the laws can't just apply to the morons that don't know whether to scratch their watch or wind their arse but that's not how it works. You get enough cell-phone related car crashes and the only way the law makers and government see to fix it is to outlaw it and also capitalize on it and make money from making it unlawful. Just like with elogs and even tighter restrictions on trucking. The more and more people keep violating HOS and driving unsafe equipment is pretty much the reason for the new regulations.

People still speed, regardless of what the posted speed limit is. People still make a lane change/turn without using a signal. People still intentionally go over their drive hours, regardless of HOS regulations. Etc.

Making something illegal won't make our roads safer. They only way to make the roads safer is to take the human element out of driving, or to pull every vehicle off the road.

Oh, and you can say all you want until you are blue in the face but even though money is made off of our mistakes, they wouldn't have to create these laws in the first place if people would be more careful and and use the sense God have them.
