apu with perkins engine

    i do have a freightliner coronado truck with an apu on it , but the perkins engine won't start , is cranking , one mechanic from pape machinery , in california checked and he said is the solenoid is bad , he said is got in a short circuit , or something like that, the apu is made by idle solution by temco, and the are out of business now, anybody have this apu please help! thank you !

    Cat bought perkins a few years ago. So you may be able to get some help from a cat dealer.

    back where he started "Pape" :^)

    Perkins didn't make starters though.

    If jumping the solenoid does not make it crank any good electric shop should be able to fix it.

    Take it ot any Thermoking dealer as Thermoking has Perkins engines. The solenoid hes talking about is the fuel cutoff solenoid.
