    Hello everyone:

    I know that I have done a lot of research and asked a lot of questions. I did it because I wanted to find a good company. I didn't want to start somewhere and find myself lost in the mix. So I waited and then I re-applied with the company that I always wanted to work for from the beginning. A company with a great reputation in the industry, and a place I would enjoy working in. So now I was offered to work for the specialized division from Maverick. I hear good and bad about it. Is it true that the specialized division is different from Maverick flatbed? How do they treat their drivers? How many miles on average do they recieve? I was offered 2500 miles per week at 37 cpm. Any information will be appreciated. Thanks again.

    Last week I left Maverick Specialized after one year. When I signed on with Mav Spec I was told I could anticipate 2500 miles a week, with 97% weekends home - what Maverick claimed was the average for their drivers.

    After the first of the year they created a new policy manual for the Specialized division that changed the home-time policy to every-other weekend. (The policy manual is dated 8/14/06, but was not distributed until the middle of February. I received on 2/22/07.)

    They also changed their web site, and created separate pages for the Flatbed and Specialized Divisions. Where the Flatbed division states first year earnings average $52,000, with 97% home time, the Specialized Division makes no promise for the first year income, and only promises "Great Home Time".

    I insisted on running legal, and:

    * Between 8/14/06 and 12/31/06 I averaged 2,128 miles per week.

    * From 1/1/07 to 8/13/07 I averaged 2,314 miles per week.

    So, giving up every other weekend at home only increased my miles by 200 per week. Not hardly a fair trade-off.

    I researched the fire out of them before I joined. I went with the US Div. I did not want glass or speciality. I found nothing bad on the flat side on the net, but did find negative on the other. I am well pleased with the US division.

    When hired with little experience but a CDL what should I expect?
    Class?
    Time out with a trainer?

    Do they have condo units for trainers or do they run you as teams?

    Thanks
