    if you disable speed sensor engine output is limited twice, so now power, engine speed is 1200 RPM governed and you cant use truck with disabled VSS. So reprogramming only

    The simplest, easiest, and cheapest way to get past a speed limiter is to get the thing on the diag computer and turn on the driver reward feature, that is part of the ECM. Set the parameter to something like 2 mpg. Everyone can get 2 mpg, and by exceeding that threshold, you can run over the speed limiter by whatever amount you set in the field. Truck still shows the set governed speed if hooked up to check. No need to cut wires, disable sensors, or buy some kit off of someone.

    If it's someone elses truck (and I'm sure it is because it's easy to get changed if it's your truck) I wouldn't mess with it. 67 mph is plenty fast enough to get the job done.

    on a company truck i used to drive was a 2005 freightliner detroit 10 spd i just unpluged the sensor on the back of the trans and it would run as fast as i wanted i used to use my gps for a spedo it didnt derate the motor some guys cut one of the wires on the speed sensor and put a toggle switch in so it can be turned on and off

    What you have to do is see if any hardware needs changed to make that big of a jump. Most of the lower HP engines would only allow a 15 - 30 HP anf torque change thru flashing of personality module. A CAT dealer can tell you if injectors, turbo or anything else internally needs changed to raise HP.

    Most companies put a VEH/RPM setting in the parameters so that if it lost the signal would limit RPM to 1000, which is what you will do by shorting it out. Not a wise move. They may be some soft/hard speed limits in the parameters that can be turned on/off that will fix your problem.

    I know MR Haney is more upto date on the latest shift/speed parameters that CAT has put into the ECM's.

    All of you "HONEST" sob's that think you are so much better than this guy have nothing better to do than tell him how wrong he is w/your little good guy comments should post somewhere else, the guy asked a question about his truck not how much better you are than him or what you think he should do instead of the question he asked.
    Each one of you are probably the ones that stay in the "TRUCKS OK" lanes that go through cities such as HWY 99 in Bakersfield whether you need to or not but don't give a crap if other trucks are stuck behind your stinky butts, freaking JERKS.
    I notice that there is a little thing that shows how many THANKS you have gotten so this is probably what drives you in this forum and makes you finally feel like you are all somebody, doesn't it? freaking weirdo's
