I would put up with it for two weeks, long enough to give my notice and clean out my truck.
TachItUp and groundpounder Thank this. -
i miss being able to get that extra phat paycheck where i might of ran around 4k miles in a 7 day period, but at the same time i like even moreso that im preserving my health by staying at or below 70 hrs.
the main thing besides that is the fact i dont have to spend so much time doing my logs, editing,re editing, making sure -EVERYTHING- is up to date, making sure logs are sent in via trp pak, ETC ETC.
its very simple too.
its a big upgrade imo. -
If they made the hos rules more flexible I wouldn't mind using elogs.
diesel_weasel Thanks this. -
Like the previous driver said,E-LOGS are coming.Government mandated whether your an owner-op or a company driver.Get use to it.If your going to drive a CMV,yOUR GOING TO HAVE TO USE THEM WHETHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT.So get use to it,or find another profession.Simple as that.It doesnt matter where you move to,everybody is going to have to go to it eventually.

When they are shoved down my throat I'll start using them. But it won't make the roads safer or transportation cost go down. And shippers and receivers won't magically decide to streamline the system to maximize the trucking industry's resources. Let's talk about the real problems with the HOS system.

I love it when the CDL mill noobs come here and tell everybody "get used to it you don't have a choice"...
there are always choices kiddies..112racing, fisher guy, rollin coal and 1 other person Thank this. -
E logs are not flexible and in the trucking industry you need to be flexible.
TachItUp, diesel_weasel, Raiderfanatic and 1 other person Thank this. -
I drove for a short time for a company that really watched the qualcomm close for the logs.
Not a problem, because I ran legal, but there was at least no direct control.
I really do not know if I would willingly work for a company with the EOBR.
I might return to Paramedic or accounting.
