So based on what I'm reading here is most of you need a set of rules or regs written by some numb nut in Wash D.C. who more than likely never sat day one in a big truck to tell you when its time to pull over and take a break ??
Perhaps its those of you that need your hand held in such a manner that need not be on the road, might better put your prissy little shirt and ties back on and go back to your 9 to 5 driving a desk...
Would you quit if forced on eLogs?

It's not really a question of need, the regs are already there. You can either follow them or not. However not following them is much more likely to lead to more regs.
-
For some, it's just them saying enough is enough. We are already regulated up the wazoo.
Just wait until we are all on elogs and the truckstops are 100% full up by 6.groundpounder and 112racing Thank this. -
Why would truck stops be filled up by 6?
-
Goes to figure. If everyone is on elogs, we will have to shut down by 6 in order to get our full 10 hr break so we can start early to make those 5AM deliveries everybody wants done. Regardless if we got as far as we needed to go.
And at least with paper, you can do a little creative editing if there was any unforseen delays.Last edited: Oct 28, 2011

errr, ummm, ok.

yes I would find another job asap and leave
American Truckergroundpounder Thanks this. -
If that's the case then you weren't managing the 14 hr clock properly. Both with the EOBR and on paper.

Adding elogs isn't adding more regulation. It's enforcing the regulations the FMCSA already has had, but no one on paper wants to follow.
And LOL @ the right to privacy statement. You're driving a CMV on a public road. YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO PRIVACY.corneileous Thanks this. -
I won't quit if forced to use e-logs. I'll just buy multiple e-logs and use whichever one says I have the hours available I need. Unlike some I know when I'm tired, I don't need a guy in DC or a guy with a badge to tell me.
Cowmobile, rollin coal and groundpounder Thank this.
