I got denied by Werner this morning for my driving record. I have a speeding ticket for 100 mph back in 2007 which they didn't say anything about. I had another one in March of 2009 for 85 in a 55 zone which the lady told me they couldn't work with me on until march of the 3 year mark.

I'm bummed because I don't know where to look now. I'm nervous that all the other beginner companies are gonna be skeptical about my driving record. Anyone got any ideas of who to look into?

To be blunt, the starter companies have the right idea. If you aren't a safe driver, you don't belong in a truck.

That being said, wait about 2 more years before you start applying for any more starter companies. If you don't have any more tickets or accidents, this will give you 5 years of safe driving history most starters want.

    Yep lol
You will need to wait until that ticket drops off in March 2012
No insurance company is gonna touch you until they are OFF your record.
Oh and slow it down some if you get another big one it'll be 3 years from that new date.

Yeah I know I was young and dumb at that point in my life. Haven't sped since then and have never had any accidents on my driving record. Someones gotta be able to work with me. Ive seen companies post on craigslist saying no more than 2 points in last 3 years, I have 1. Well I hope something comes up cuz I need work desperately!

No, they don't "gotta work with you." It's an insurance thing. No one is going to hire you because they can not insure you with that record. Insurance dictates a lot of hiring practices.

Sorry I'm not saying they have to work with me. I'm just hoping theres a company out there whose insurance can cover me and give me a chance.

Thats two 20+ tickets over..Shows blatant disregard for speed limits. They should take you as their POS trucks only run 62.LOL

Oh well, Im repulsed by OTR so I cant see how people want to do it. You could always go to England.

I don't necessarily want to do otr driving im just doing it to get some experience so I can do something local or intermodal. I know my tickets are ###### but im trying to get past that part of my life. They denied me only because of the one in 2009 didnt say anything about the other one

SLOW DOWN be safe, and find one of the internet sites that sends your information to most trucking companies. If there is a company that will hire you this is the best way to find out. I did this back in Aug and I got maybe 20 calls and at least as many emails.
