Something about that part of town. Its where the traffic court is so you can imagine what that's like.

every Home Depot DC i've delivered to was a Drop and Hook, you can deliver 24/7. 6 hours before to 2 hours after your Apt time.

All the stores i've delivered to took there stuff when i put my truck and there dock and handed them their paper work....

As far as the DCs goes, I never had problems at either one that I've been to.

    But as to the stores??????

We do both at the DC's......

Lowes are great....stores 4am appts D/H and DC's D/H with a 24 hour window and no problems arriving early

Home Depot we generally get a 14 hour window and a service failure if you arrive even 1 minute early.....d/h as well

Probably worst for me was Home depot in Cranbury, NJ DC don't show up more than 15 minutes before your appt time and the only available parking for miles was a little one lane gravel road about a half mile up from the DC that you have to blindside into off of a heavily traveled 2 lane....And that's where they send you to park if you're early or unloaded and out of hours ( thanks again e-log )....and a wiener driver was already there and just pulled off the side and didn't even try to back in so I had to get around him too.....but once I got in there they were pretty quick to unload.....and beat the wiener driver in there because he had to go try and find somewhere to turn around. He still didn't try to back into the road to turn around hehehe

I don't understand how one can call arriving EARLY a service failure. It defies all logic.

Yeah it defies logic......i would think they would be glad to get product early.....but, also having spent many years on the warehousing/logistics side if things......JIT inventory schedules are really adhered to by some companies....I for one, never turned away a driver to my warehouse if he arrived early.

But it doesn't work that way for some. In fact, we get fined if we show up at a home depot DC early for a d/h appointment. I've more than once had to sit down the road at a truckstop waiting for the window to open if I had a firm pickup appt. or at the origin to leave so that I wouldn't arrive early and eat time up on the elog

Even our load assignments for these places are peppered with warnings about consequences to our company if we arrive early.

    Go figure.

i got one word and three words to decribe it perfectly.

GREED and "cause they can" Why else would TYSON charge $500 instantly for a del that you arrived at the guard shack ONTIME 10 min early for but the guard shack is so backed up it takes 25 min to get to the receiving office where they say your late.
