my position is that cheating your logs to help your company move a load in a certain amount of time hurts you and hurts company,overall... youre basically getting more work done getting more productivity out of that truck, they arent paying you any overtime, they arent paying anything extra besides your normal rate, yet youre giving up alot whether you realise it or not.

theyre cheating themselves too, because eventually their csa score is going to be #### because they obviously cant plan loads worth a darn and theyre cutting their own throat by prly undercutting other carriers as far as shipping rates.

your manager and the load planner should have their ducks in a row and their driving record isnt at stake, companies are getting VERY picky about who they hire.

youre unlikely to recover your health once it goes downhill and doing that 16 hour day because that ####### asked you a favor one too many times, is one to many, PERIOD.

i wont try to say im perfect as far as logging, but i have elogs and it records all movement...and im doing fine...

I think the same. Solely because people won't quit. If you've been driving for 15+ years, you're pretty much locked in. It's either retire or greet people at Walmart.

I Bobtail over 140 miles a week on my elogs. Just have to log out. It doesnt track miles if a driver isn't logged in but you better log back in where you logged out at. I run dedicated so for me it's not an issue.

Well, personally, I would return back to active paramedic or accounting.

The reasons I left them was because of the tight over sight and regulations. If I have to have the EOBR, I might as well be in a job where I am home at night and not regulated as bad as trucking is getting.

You at least have a fall back. Others don't. I do have a degree in IT I can fall back on, but I prefer to drive, regardless of the regulations.

heres my take on this whole situation when it comes to paper...If your good you'll never get caught plain and simple if you meh on it ur probally A) gonna get caught or B) your gonna kill someone or C) your gonna do both.....

Now ask yourself this...Which are you???? or this Do you really wanna find out???

moral is people are going to cheat no matter what. its in our nature some play by the rules more power to them if it works for them cool

others wanna run and no little box in there truck is gonna stop them one way or another they will find a way around it. if they crash or get caught then its there problem for being stupid and not knowing there limits.

in certain parts of the industry they is no time to plan like trash... ive had my pick up location change on me 3 times in a half hour because of other drivers f* ups while on my way to the first place...answer me this how do i plan for this and expect to make a living on percentage? i'll tell you i adapt i make things work.

another note I refuse to stop in a unsafe place or off in the middle of nowhere in east bumf* im in new england theres not to many truck stops around so again sometimes you gotta make things work in order to get to that truck stop.

before anyone says it all my times add up including my fuel and tolls

i get away with this because1) i dont have gps 2) im smart enough to know when to freaking stop.... hello!?!?!?!? if your pounding down 5hr energy drinks and still cant keep ur eyes open and your still going you deserve to get thrown in jail for life for killing an innocent family

so in summary who cares if they come out with eobrs give it a year they will figure out how to get around them.

if you run legal dont knock the guys that do what they gotta do to survive...you aint no better then us..

same goes for the people that run flubber books dont knock the people that r scared of the DOT....errr... run legitimately.

lets stop disagreeing over everything and lets start agreeing on how to get our rights back from the goverment that has way to much control over this industry

thats just my 2 cents thank you :gets off soap box:

What rights would you be referring to? Driving is, and will always be a privilege, not a right. We may have the right to work, but we do not have the right to drive.

And the 14 hour rule wasn't a number the FMCSA just pulled out of a hat. The 14 hour rule was created in conjunction with a 10 hour break, to create a 24 hour day.

E logs just put another $120 in my check for this week.

I am sitting at a terminal waiting for a preloaded trailer to get here. The driver bringing it took a wrong turn, ran out of hours and has to take a break. I pick up an extra 8 hours of layover pay and get to start my driving day at 6 AM instead of 5 PM.

If you violate company policy, you've got no one to blame but yourself

If i violated company policy and was put on e-log, no, I wouldnt quit,
If I had done nothing to be put on e-log, with out a dout, I'd be gone

I knew you were a company kiss ### snitch in your last post. Funny thing is , I always run legal but e-logs are a BS way to make sure your company drivers arent sneaking home or doing other things with the truck. Quit giving them a cheap ### wage and maybe you wouldnt see this problem.
