Had something similar happen to me a few months ago. I was sitting in Burns Harbor waiting to take a trailer when the other driver made the wrong turn and went the wrong way on I-80 from I-65. He ended up in Iowa before he figured out he made the wrong turn.![]()
Would you quit if forced on eLogs?

well!, In the eye's of the government your right, but where do they get the money to build these roads?, who's tax dollars are paying this?, If you are not sure, i'll clue you in, It comes from yours and mine, we pay for these roads, It should be our RIGHT to drive on these road, not a privilage!, Just the same as the close on your back, you paid for them, It's your right to wear them!, the same as you home, you pay for it, your right to live in it

Funny you should say that....
Oliver Patton (Heavy Duty Trucking's Washington correspondent) was on Lockridge's show today to discuss that issue.....
Currently we're looking at our 11 hours drive time reduced to 10.....
So you would think that Joan Claybrook (Public Citizen) would be happy with that new reg....Hell no....Now she wants to go to the European model....(She filed another lawsuit against the FMCSA.....) 8 hours.....and not just the drive time but, your total work day.....
I like what one of the listeners said to do....
We all make trucking run from 9-5......
I guarantee in less than a week....Those morons in DC and the ####### anti-trucking groups will be begging us to go back to the 1930's HOS rules......
DrtyDiesel Thanks this. -
Where in the world would all of the trucks park.

The tax money that pays for highway projects come from fuel, vehicle, and tire purchases. Also tolls on some interstates. Just because you bought a vehicle doesn't mean you have the right to drive it. Individual states are responsible for highway upkeep, not the feds.

In front of Claybrook's house of course......
Karma is a beeyatch is it not?

I think that she is nuts.
Limit me to 8 hours a day, there is going to have be a huge pay increase for the downtime.
Just what does this loony bird think it will do to the cost of everything? -
What these morons don't get is that trucks in order to keep up with the demands of industry and the consumers....Have to move 24/7/365.....
The minute milk isn't in the fridge and diapers aren't on the shelves....People will be screaming bloody murder...... -
They keep taking time away from us drivers all they are going to do is force drivers to work under the table when we are not driving. Two options: 1. increase pay signifianlty 2. knowingly have drivers working under the table jobs on off time and then driving tired over the road.

The pay will have to keep going up or no milk for the kiddies cereal, plain and simple
