You need to pump 30 gallons , shut the pump down , then restart it and swipe your loyalty card again and get another 50 .

I spent years living on a boat, and learned it is quite possible to shower with one gallon of water.
I was thinking of doing the same as OP during the warm months.

Can't do that with my comdata cards. If I shut the pump down, my card goes on hold for about 15 minutes. But, I do have a Flying J card. If I stop at a Flying J, I'll fill the truck with the Flying J card, and fill the reefer with my comdata card. Gives me 1 and 1/2 showers.Ops85 Thanks this.

You can sponge bathe yourself in the cab using rinse free soap. Get some at a medical supply store or, since you're trying to save money, swipe some from a nursing home.

*gigglesnort* um, my coffee ALMOST hit my G15. BAD, DS, real bad. For those of you who don't know, a G15 is a $100 gaming keyboard.

I've used one of the camping style solar powered ones before, but only to help clean off the worst of the grime from my arms and face after tarping a load in the summer (or that load I picked up in the Mojave desert...lol) Never to replace a shower... though I'm sure I'd have gotten endless comments if I tried it... LOL!

THere are two kinds of camping showers that I have used.
The plastic bag that holds about 5 gallons of water. You fill it in the morning then leave it in the sun all aday and it heats up, somewhat. Then you have to hang it to have a gravity feed type shower.
The other was a five gallon bucket. half full of cold water and we heated up a few pails over the campfire. Then used a 4D battery powered electric shower head. It was great.
Both were in a home made free standing PVC and silver tarp type shower stall. But that was in a private(ish) campsite.
The most expensive shower I have seen is $12 at TA.

I picked up a solar 5 gallon bag at Wallyworld. It has a nozzle on one end with a sprinkler. I let it sit on the catwalk on top of a mudflap and secured with bungee's. In the south or out west in the summer it heats up pretty good. Like dieselgrl I use it to rinse off the grime and sweat after loading and chaining. They are great for a quick rinse of your arms and head with hand cleaner. As far as a full blown shower, I don't think that is a good idea. Besides, I have never had to wait THAT long to get a shower at a TS. And true, when you are just driving it's not like you get that dirty. Its the load securement that some of us have to do that is the messy part. If you are bumping a dock and just opening the doors I don't really see personal hygiene as a real issue. But tarping and chaining in the summer can be very grimy work.

When it rains, I get a shower, when it pours, I get a good one!!!!!!
