How many miles do you average just coming out of being trained?

"Faxed" it in? Maverick's applications used to be a few pages long in a small recruiting envelope that anyone could fill out and transflo in at any truckstop that offered transflo services. The same application envelope also had a business rate postal envelope to snail mail it in as well.

As far as i know, Maverick has gone 100% computerized with their applications, meaning you fill out the application on line. I'd suggest you do that, fill an application out on line and go from there. That's very uncharacteristic of the recruiting department not to contact someone. I've talked to a driver whom asked if i had an application, and sent their name and phone number to the recruiting department via qualcom and they have been contacted usually by the end of the next business day. 102011 was a thursday and its been over a week now..........Yep fill out an on line application and see where it goes from there.

    Hello Sarge,
I am at Roadmaster School in Columbus, OH now, in 2nd week of three. Hope to have the CDL soon, and have been visited by Warren (Recruiter) and called by Mason (Recruiting Dept?). I am VERY interested in Maverick!! I live maybe 30 minutes away from the Maverick location in Middletown, OH. Do you happen to know if there are any Driver Instructors such as yourself who are close to my area that I could POSSIBLY get teamed up with for my training, as to allow me to have the Home-Time during my training period? I am a family-guy and would love to have the ome-time possibilities that Maverick drivers appear to have- and to have that during training would just beicing on the cake I believe. Thanks for all of your posts on here.

My husband's trainer was Danny. They were trainer/trainee for 6 weeks and 1 weekend was spent at Danny's home near Washington DC, 1 weekend in Illinois and hubby spent 4 weekends of that at our home (well, that includes the weekend after Danny said that my hubby was ready for his eval out testing). So, we were pretty lucky.

So far, hubby has made it home every weekend since he got his own truck (he MUST be home this weekend because he has a doctor's appointment on Monday to get refills for his cholesterol and blood pressure - both run in his family so he keeps up with those).

Hey Sarge, saw you looking all snazzy there in the recruitment brochure my school-to-be gave me. I've got a few things to clear up on my end before I get my CDL, but had a good chat with a Maverick recruiter today. I do have a question that maybe you can answer. Let's say I get on with a trucking company. Let's say that I'm doing well, but I decide to move to another position within the company-- drive a desk rather than a truck for a while. Is this an option with Maverick or most other companies? Or is one forever stamped with the "Driver" tag as far as trucking companies are concerned?

    Thanks!

I called Maverick 10/29/11 and left a message asking if they had received my faxed in app. Monday 10/31/11 a man returned my call saying they did, and I was denied. Said with no work history the last 3 years, I'm not eligible. I'm an early retired (years of service plus age equals 80) Cleveland carpenter. I have a good work ethic and work history, and will keep looking. Wondering now if they were ever going to reply to my app, with the bad news,...Tom

i was told that the only good thin about pulling a fl;at is that the majority of your loads are NOT time sensitive? How true is this and if true is this a good thing for a person just starting out?
