A great video on why you should never talk to cops, gives both points of view from a defense lawer and an detective.

Yes it's a bit long but so very worth it, but the bottom line is it's never a good ideal to talk to the cops, it can't help you.

Well worth the 48mins...Even in regard to traffic violations which truckers may face...And especially if you're 100% innocent!!!!!...

Very interesting and from both a law professor and a professional cop saying that talking to police to try and talk your way out of a ticket or whatever is just foolish.

Well worth watching and thanks for posting!!!

OK I watched it, I found several parts to be kind of funny. So if I get pulled over for speeding and a LEO asks me if I know how fast I was going I should just say I want to exercise my 5th amendment right and not answer that question!? No matter what they say to me dont answer anything what so ever!?

I have done precisely that- and after staring me down in total silence for around two minutes, he suddenly handed my license back and walked away. The citation probably would have been for 63 in a 55 zone.

That's been a few years, in Nebraska. In Missouri during an inspection I clammed up and didn't speak while the inspector went through my logbook. At the time, I only logged an inspection at the start of a trip (shipper) and the end of the trip (customer). He started shouting at me to get a response- he demanded to know how long it took for me to do an inspection- finally he threw my logbook down hard and told me "Get out! Do a post trip and pre trip every day and show fifteen minutes. Next time, we'll be her all day!"

Lying can be a criminal offense. Silence is not and never will be.

Interesting. Nice to know, now I will never think so innocently of the policeman.
