Probably only get his hands slapped and told not to do it again.

>>>>a trooper spotted a patrol car changing lanes in a dangerous manner
That drew attention from a cop?...I thought that was SOP... -
Being a recent retiree from this profession I can say with some confidence that this LEO will be looking at criminal charges as well as administrative discipline from his agency. Possibly losing his job if his license is suspended under the criminal proceedings. As well as I think its a safe bet that he has had issues in the past with things like this, abuse of power.

Driving a patrolcar to his off-duty job, school security, what the heck? Up here that alone would get you fired, and land you in jail. Unless the agency assigned you to that duty, which it would not be considered off-duty. It's a criminal offense, misuse of public funds, official misconduct, to use a patrolcar for personal use.
He attempted to elude in a cruiser? Wonder if he was running 10-39 (lights/sirens) when he was running? That would have confused the other motorists. Hope he gets the book thrown at him. He grossly dishonored the profession.tirednaz Thanks this. -
Around here, the city officers are assigned take home cars and they want them to use them for everything except family trips. They want the cars to be visible.

Ok, I worked for a total of 3 different agencies, mostly sheriff's depts, and we were also assigned cars. However we were also made very aware, by the KBI, that personal use of them would provide you a place to stay, rent-free.

hopefully, this will wake up some of the officers around here. It's not uncommon for them to fly by at 100mph, no lights, sirens, turn sigs, swerving in and out of traffic. In South Florida they wreck a lot of patrol cars and hurt people almost weekly.

Sure everyone is different and it depends on the individual, so I ain't profiling, lol. Profiling a cop, now that's funny...
But I seen a bear on the shoulder, so I stepped over in the hammer lane. Without warning, lights or a signal he come off the shoulder and jumped out in front of me and slammed on his brakes to turn around in the median to go after a speeder. Luckily I was able to react and go back to the clear granny lane.
That cop didn't know how close he come to getting hit. I missed him by a foot or two. Yeah, bad drivers are in all professions. -
Here's a video of the arrest. She approached him with her gun drawn.
