Hi,
Just wanted to introduce myself. Not a newbie to automotive or truck industry, but also, not a Trucker. Just was searching the web, came across the site and seen it as interesting enough to join (and I have to post a thread for some requested help as well - in another sub forum on here).
I'm a Mustang Enthusiast (have owned 17 to date), and belong to many other types of automotive related forums, for years now... LOL. I'm also a Salt Water Enthusiast as well, if there are any fish tank folks in here (or even fishermen).
The site here is cool - and this is enough of my intro, don't want to bore anyone...

Please tell me where my son and I can drop a hook off the shore around here? Just like to know for reference and you can be very specific.

I wish I knew where to tell you, seeing that your location is in NV, but I'm located in NJ.
If you're passing through NJ, some of the best Salt Water fishing is down in Southern NJ, in Long Beach Island - right off the beaches (surf fishing) and/or down by the LBI Lighthouse off the rocks.
Right now, the waters are getting colder with the changing season and Stripers (Bass) and Bluefish are getting hot. Stripers run as large as nearly 50" and weigh in as much as 43lbs or better. They are a great fish to go after if you have some time in NJ. The Bluefish are good eating too, but between the 2, definitely hook some Striper - you can get nice steaks out of them. If you're going after Stripers, definitely bring Bunker and live clams for bait. The live clams are great fresh bait to use right out of their shells (up here, the clams we use, the shells are sometimes in excess of 6" or more across!). Bunker is a real oily fish, great for catching Striper. You want FRESH Bunker though... you can tell fresh from days old by looking at the fish itself - if the eyes are red, the sides/belly is pink and the belly is soft - it's at least 4-6 days old. Fresh Bunker will be solid, eyes clear and the outer body will be very shiny and oily. To catch Striper - you chunk the Bunker - meaning, cut the body vertically into 1"-1.5" strips. Also using additional fishing poles, also use the head and tail on those separate lines to lure in fish.
In the Summer months, Blowfish, Tog (Blackfish), Triggerfish, Fluke/Flounder are very popular right out in the Bay, or at the mouth of the Bay where it meets the ocean over by the Lighthouse. There's lots more to catch as well, but those are the popular fish around this way.
If going out on a Charter Boat, definitely hit up the Ms. Barnegat Light and there's a few others as well which are very good. Tuna & Swordfishing is quite popular as well, if you're into that type of sport fishing.
There are also a lot of "wrecks" down near LBI, which is great for diving and/or ocean fishing by boat, because the wrecks contain lots of neat and good eating fish as well. In the Summer, there is also a Shark Tournament too - so if you enjoy Mako, that's another fun time.
Cape May is another good area to go fishing - and it's really beautiful there if you're passing through, with LOTS of things to do and plenty of very cool Inns and Bed & Breakfasts - it's the beginning of the NJ Parkway - Exit 0.
