Since there's not much around here about YRC- GM, I figured I'd start a "diary" type thread about them. Though I don't have much to say yet. :biggrin_2559:

I completed orientation last Thursday, and was assigned a truck right away. Truck was clean and in good working order. I needed to get to Columbus to get my things out of storage, and there were no loads going that way on Thursday, so I just hung out and relaxed until Friday morning. Picked up in Camp Hill, and delivered to Columbus (pd miles-370) Then I hustled down to Florence first thing Saturday morning to pick up a preloaded trailer which delivered in Breinigsville, PA this morning (pd miles-665).

I stopped for fuel yesterday afternoon, only to find my Comdata card wasnt working. I sent in a QC message about it, and it was fixed about 20 minutes later.

    No preplan right now.

    American-Trucker Thanks this.

I got $65 layover pay without even asking for it. First thing this morning, QC beeped and there it was :)

I like that I'm being treated like a professional, not an idiot who needs a lot of hand-holding. I choose my route, I pick my fuel stop out of their list of approved stops, etc, etc. At Swift, my QC would beep 10-20 times a day. Here, when I get a message, it's something important. I work best when I'm given a job to do, and then left alone to do it. That's how it seems to be here. They give me the load, the rest is up to me. I'm liking that- hope it continues.:biggrin_25514:

Delivered in Memphis this morning. Got there a little early, and they unloaded promptly, which is good. They had sent me a preplan with a really tight schedule. I actually turned it down at first, but when I got empty so quickly, I decided to go ahead and do it.

The load was dropped on the Holland yard in Olive Branch, MS and unloads tomorrow morning in Newport, TN (pd miles-457.) I was fortunate on this trip- nothing went wrong :)

My 70 is getting burned up, so the next couple days will need to slow down a little.

Planned on a load that will pickup this afternoon here in Newport and deliver tomorrow afternoon in Salisbury, NC (pd miles-220.) That oughta let my 70 catch up a bit.
