I've seen the line of trucks on a Monday morning at the Cleveland Sysco, A Pepsi truck waited an hour to get to the guard shack entrance.

Worst first day ever, I arrived at 130 to start my training at 2 like scheduled, so I get assigned a truck old beat up it looks like a hurricane passed thru there, my trainer smelled like alcohol he was a good 250 wider than taller guy African American in his early 30's he told me "I want to protect my license so you are driving, don't put you Spanish crap too high on the radio". First stop 300 20 pound boxes of chicken the all by myself while he was sleeping in the cabin I toook it like a big boy. 2 stop a mcdonalds in the middle of NYC, got ticked for idling since he couldnt stay in the vehicle while I spoke to the manager because he had to thrown up while I was trying to hurry up and finish my day the guy said " I though you were a DominiCAn but you are just a dominiCANT" referring to my nationality he just kept going at it thru the day, I even had to pay lunch for the both of us since he was "broke". Once I got back to the yard he said "I don't think you are made for this job but I will give you a few more days" after I did 2 stops of 623 boxes in less than 9 hours counting my lunch break. I went to the hr department to see if I could get a new trainer she told me that I can't. I got 2 weeks of training with this dumb rock Im not sure I will be able to make it.

It wasn't a driver it was one of the safety personnel, they said that drivers can sometimes teach bad habits to the new guys, it was only 2 stops.... money is good 19 and hour and your own truck #### it I might stick it out nj. Its really expensive especially when you got a family

Don't worry bro you'll make it! They need drivers bad most likely. Stick it out! Screw that POS trainer! Only way you won't make it if your a POS which it doesn't sound like it. If it's union your pay will go up constantly. Alot of our drivers that been here awhile not Sysco make 80-90k get what routes they want, but Sysco pays more or the same. It's not that hard of work, it can be depending on the stop If it sucks. Yes you work 50-60 hours but your home everyday. Your foots in the door with other foodservice co once you get a lil exp. You can get pick up in a heartbeat if Sysco isn't doin it for you. Don't let one foodservice Co ruin it for you. I came off 5 years OTR and it's not a bad job to me. Goodluck man!

Sysco, do they hire directly out of school there? i'll be getting my CDL in a few weeks. I'm still in classes now and in the Albany area. If so is the best way to just come in and talk with someone face to face after I receive my CDL? I don't know if going in now before i get a CDL is the best thing or not. I went online and it appears there are no positions open at this time. What do they start you out at? Any advice would be great. If i have to go out on the road for a while i'll do that as well..

thanks! I'll check into that. What are the hours for a driver there? what time do they want you to start? Also you might have a preference with Sysco, but how does mclane and usfood compare?
