Im interested in the area as well. I have been in the military for 15 years and might be hanging it up soon. Originally from Greeneville but would love to live anywhere Knoxville and east as long as I can find work and have some home time. Wife wants to move back to Warner Robins GA but Im not overly excited about that idea.

Air Products has a plant and terminal in Gray TN...they dont hire often but in the past few months they have hired a few...I have heard they may be hiring one more soon....good work, great pay and bennies...local guy run alot of nitrogen up to norton and jenkins area, also run a few teams but may be hard for a new guy to get on teams ...local guys around 60k and teams around 80+ year (41/2 days)...cryogenics is the gravy of all gravy IMHO..

Why not stay put for the next five years for the retirement? Or have they changed it, I've wished a million times that I would have stayed. Just remember if you stay til retirement you'll still be young enough to start and complete another occupation when you get out. Good luck and thank you for your service.

Big G has a facility near Bristol. Raven has a terminal in Johnson City that they did share with Heartland Express. I think that they merged at one time. Neither are starter companies. I agree with puncher that it might be in your best interests to stick with the military and get in your 20 before finding another career.

Big G is down at ex 16 now. Probably let you take the truck home if in Johnson City.

I am sure ther are far better companies to work for around there than them though.

I would second the finish the twenty. Something to convince your wife how bad Georgia sucks. If it didn't Florida would be in Cuba:biggrin_25519:

Its becouse of PT issues and force shapping. Might not have a choice. If I can stay in I will but if they tell me to go then I will not have a choice.
