Which is a better place to park to sleep. Rest Area/ highway truck parking area, Truck Stop. Ho long can you stay in most truck stops. If I have a reset can I stay the entire time?
Thanks in advance for your answers.

You can park anywhere you want. Some drivers prefer truck stops, some prefer rest stops. Rest stops for the most part a little more quieter but don't have food and showers and such. I would always try to avoid truck stops as much as possible but thats just me. I had secret spots all over the entire country. Well not secret per say but spots that most drivers didn't know were there. Everytime I spotted somewhere to park or found a nice place I would make sure to write it down in my truck stop guide. I made it a point to always have a nice little quiet spot everywhere I went. Going to take you some time to do this but it was well worth it.

Chompi is right, Sometimes there are spots close to a truckstop that you can park and have it be a bit quieter. Some state parks will let you in (for a fee) and have showers, even some rv places. Just gotta be on the lookout.

Yeah you can shower and eat or whatever before hand during the day at a truck stop and when your ready to shut down for the night or whenever you can park wherever you want or where its a little more less crowded and quiet.

The bad thing about rest areas is DOT likes to go in some and harass drivers by checking log books or doing full inspections . I think more crimes have been committed in rest areas than truck stops .
I never saw a truck stop limit stay time but I've seen signs in rest areas restricting parking from 2 to 8 hours .

I have seen a few truck stops that limit your parking time. There are also a few out there that charge for parking if you aren' t buying fuel. Most of these are in Cali but I know there is one in Co and Chicago. As far as crimes in rest stops or truck stops that's a toss up. Would have to see some statistics on that one.

That seems ideal. Anyone know which states allow this?

    Here you go!

    http://www.woodalls.com/

You can also pick up an RV guide at the truck stops and that will tell you where they all are. One really cool park is at the Meteor Crater in AZ not even a mile off the main highway (I-40) east of Flagstaff.

i stay at Truck Stops 99% of the time,

They are safer then parking just about anywhere else
You are responsible for someone elses truck/trailer your SUPOSED to park at a truck stop, if you park in some vacant lot and something happens to the truck/trailer/freight thats on you.
Truck stops also have anything and everything you need, and you can safely get out of the truck and get a taxi/bus/walk to where ever you want to go and not worry about your truck and stuff
