Getting ready for winter. Don't make the mistake I did. Make sure you drain the air tanks on the truck and specily the trailer. The one on my trailer was hidden, so as they say out of site out of mind. It cost me $3000 to get everything fixed.

That's what you get for thinking.Mudrunner Thanks this.

Can a driver plan their own route providing that their not going way out of the way without having to ask permission? I mean I know Prime pays HHG which should provide you with some leeway but if your a company driver your still using the companies fuel. So Im curious as to the companies policy on this. Thanks
-
You can make slight adjustments, but for the most part you have to follow the route.
-
Unless you try to take I29 in Iowa right after a flood... then its a MAJOR adjustment lol Stupid de"tour". Those roads were never meant for us to be on...
-
Yeah, JCW's trainer was asleep when he hit that issue the first time. Dispatch was being...slow, as it was the weekend. I got to route him around that one.
-
i had fun with that I29 detour trainer was like yeah i dont want you to turn off and im like we dont have a choice going along with what ORD said that route isnt meant for us

The Lincoln to Nebraska City route is open again. I think it cuts almost 30 miles than going thru Council Bluffs.
There is nothing wrong with NE-2. So I don't understand why you guys don't think we should be on that road.
If you got problem with stop lights, it's only a couple miles there in Lincoln then it's wide open.
Just wait until you get Prime routed around Toll roads. Especially heading east out of Chicago... Across IN, and OH on US 30. Just as bad in South Eastern/central PA. -
U2's absolutely right. NE2 cuts off a big chunk of travel - and using US30 through Indiana and Ohio beats the heck out of paying tolls. At the speeds we run, many times it makes little difference getting off of the interstates and onto the US and state routes, when a suitable alternate exists.
It's a pretty simple tradeoff for me. $50 in tolls equals around 100 miles in fuel for me. I can take a lot of off-interstate travel for that.DenaliDad Thanks this. -
As a L/O do you have to pay tolls your self or do they reimburse you for them?
