Thanks Svoray. So Fracking is hauling dump loads and helping at the site, i.e. shoveling?

If anyone else sees this and has specific company recommendations, post it, pm me or email me. Thanks!

Yep your are both right! I had the interview today and they pay as the following.

$13.00 an hr for non CDL Hazmat
$14.00 an Hr for CDL A and Hazmat

The pay is setup Regionally for Halliburton so it is what it is. "Trust me I asked for more money"

3 Weeks of Training and they provide a hotel for out of State folks, then your own your own. Not my words the recruiters words.

The Cement job is a jack of all trades Position. You are on call 24/7 right now for the position.

Now lets do the Math so you see how this works. 70-100 hrs avg a week.

    $14 * 40= $560
    $21 * 40= $840 OT wages
    $21 * 60= $1260 OT wages

Now some of us have families and would either have to relocate immediately or make enough to support both households till relocation becomes available. Texas District Doesn't provide relocation for non supervisors at this time. Quote "We have enough Applicants to not have to offer those incentives. This isn't North Dakota"

variables and avgs... 7-9 sleep is needed Source: National Sleep Foundation.<<< Hyperlinked for source.... That leaves 17 hrs in a day for most adults.

17 * 6= 102 hrs to work,0 so the 100hr week is doable in most cases if your highly motivated.

Yes the number 6 was taking from the work rotation as it is 6 on and 3 off in the Papmpa TX area.

Now lets take the average, I wont make this a mathematics class so lets make it simple. 20 is the difference in the 40 and 60 overtime weeks I showed. So we take the middle of the distance between the two which is 10, and add that to 40 giving us 50.

    $21 * 50hrs overtime = $1050.00 + 560 weekly pay at $14 an hour equals
    $1610.00 a weekly average.
    $1610 * 4 = $6440.00 Monthly
$6440.00 * 12months = $77,280.00 Yearly Margin for error figured in at 10%. That's how they get the 70K+ I was told on the phone today.

Now with every thing said about the 25% differential I would just take any of these numbers and Multiply it by .25. Example 1610 * .25 = 402 You take 402 + 1610 and you get $2012 a week. $1208 a month more being the difference between North Dakota and Texas in Pay monthly at Halliburton. You can do it yearly also by taking that number * 12 and get $14496.00 Now that would pay someone like mines rent here in Seattle and Allow me to Start buying a home here also.

That for someone with out the attachments would mean lets see... 2006 Ford Expedition XLT - $12,000 I found on cars dot com.

    Get the picture folks.

Well back to the interview; I got the major questions asked; the Raises at Halliburton just changed in that region I was told. It's a performance based raise system. I don't know about it myself; and will ask for more information when me and the recruiter next speaks. She was a straight shooter like I expected from Texas. Some how I did the majority of the talking. I am a great questions ask er/communicator on loan from the heavens above.

She said there's no real social life down there; and my friend at the Trucking school said she sounded like she wanted to talk you out of the job lol.. Like I should be doing something else with my life lol... I am, what I am! I explained to him. I can come across as quite articulate and fashionable. I lead a hermits life; reading writing and doing mathematics in my spare time. You wouldn't know me from the avg Joe. Though I am well read and acquainted with highs to lows in life. I like to have a seat at the table and just fit in; though I might have a few Questions for you once I do. LOL!

Well I will know by Friday if I made the Cut! Either, or North Dakota has been my first Choice and making $80K to 100K is where my goal is my first year. Making $75K to start your first year is attainable in Texas folks based on the numbers. Taking the following initiative of 7 on and 2 off will make a difference in your pay check. I won't bore you with the numbers though lol...

Thank you for reading and Sorry So Long.

I'm not sure about shovels....haven't seen one yet.

Fracing is basically using Hydraulic pumps used to pump water and sand into a well to stimulate oil/gas flow. They typically use about 5-12 pumps which require their own driver plus misc support trucks and more drivers. The main work is rigging up and rigging down...that and replacing bushing in the pumps. Fracing works in stages and each stage last 2-3 hours...Frac pumps only run about 45-70 minutes. You end up with a lot of down time Fracing. It's not uncommon to see Frac guys sitting around sleeping or playing around on Iphones etc. As a fuel guy, I refuel after each stage which takes me about 30-45 minutes per stage. I probably get the most free time and I use it well watching movies, sleeping, typing on my ipad, and sleeping lol

if i was going to do fracing, haliburton would be the last place i'd go. Theres other companes that start you out with more money. A guy could also consider "wire lining" as a career too. Its a ton of hours, its not a hard job, you typically get a wage plus a percentage of the jobs you do, you get perdiem and motel paid because you are usually out of town for a week at a time.

These are not the kind of jobs where you monitor "sleep". Most jobs in the oil field wether its water hauling, fracing etc. etc are going to run you ragged at times and you simply have to leave the door with the mind set of leaving everything behind and live vicariously through your job. You sleep when you can, eat when you can, take a dump or piss when you can and you will typically have the time to do all these things. I would suggest to let it all hang out and ride the oil field where ever or what ever it asks from you.

If you want more structure, then haul crude if you can. Most of those jobs only work 12 hours a day and thats a cake walk in the oil field. Most of the other jobs are just simply going to be a matter of loving the oil field and forgetting about the outside world and what time your getting home or how much sleep youre gonna get. I personally average 5-6 hours a night and feel fine.

I also worked with a shovel, lugged hoses around etc. etc. a good portion of the day helping out a roustabout crew and i'm a water hauler. It was fun and the crew was great and we all had our moments where we busted our butts but it wasnt hard in my opinion. The point is, i signed up for water hauling but i take on anything that comes my way.....i remain flexible and i dont bother thinking about when my day is going to end.

The oil field can be tough but its also fair, like the saying goes, make a hand or move on. Its a great saying out here and it makes total sense if you love the oil field and are willing to give everything for it.

I think of it as camping and getting paid lol.

Pioneer has a really nice set up, they start people out @ 20.00-25.00, work 12 hr shifts and their equipment is very modern and reliable.

Wireline/Slickline is nice starting people out around 3,500 a month and up to 75k a year but you earn your money. I mean it just seems like these guys are always wrenching pipes. The down time between in and out of the hole is considerably shorter than that of a Frac crew. The reason is these guys are either pulling their gun a part or reloading. Now there is an upside to wireline if you work your way up to engineer, you're inside an A/C control room reading debts and setting plugs.

Yes that is with Halliburton. I applied for a few jobs with them. Got a email from the Texas Recruiter to do an phone interview. Talked with her; and then got a decline letter from Halliburton.

I sent an email asking for the North Dakota Recruiter info; I figured it was from Texas. Got an immediate reply stating that was for the Midland area I had applied for, and my offer letter should be received in a day or two.
She updated my offer today; so any other apps in that region would be rejected. :biggrin_2559:

Well; this will get me started and get me some driving experience should I choose to accept the offer. :biggrin_25525:
