Probably a dumb question but if you do have a load rejected because of a mechanical breakdown......what do you do with it? Drive it to a landfill?

If it's not a "branded" product or protected at time of sale your insurance will want to salvage what they can to offset the cost.

I hauled the stuff for a few years out of Blue Bunny in LeMars IA. They had an age limit on the trailer and reefer unit if you were hauling ice cream but I don't know if they still do. Any unit in good condition should hold -20 even in TX or AZ. I've seen load inspectors for ice cream use a thermal camera on trailers to see how badly they are sealed when at -20.

Would be funny of the insurance kept a load of rotten bananas and sold them as milkshakes to offset the cost I think by adding a bunch of sugar and cinammon powder the rotten taste should go away.

The company i used to work for, hauled about a dozen loads of bananas a day. The few loads that got rejected when to the local food banks.
