more often they are left at Truck Stops, Sometimes just other terminals or drop yards where they dont do orientations.

While this may come as a surprise to you (it did me). Schneider has a room full of tossed seats at the W. Memphis shop.

Seat broken, not a problem. Too nasty (the ladies understand this more so than the men) not a problem. They'll snatch that puppy out, and stick a new one in, or replace the seat cushions

Something like that. Some people quit and trash the trucks. Heard many horror stories about drivers having to retrieve rancid trucks. Not talking about SNI mind you, but in general. Had one driver tell me about having to to the Everglades to retrieve a truck. Of course you know what they say about trucker stories. :biggrin_25525:

Sometimes there aren't any trucks available at the terminal you're at for orientation so they send you to another terminal to get one. Just luck of the draw.

Very good to know, appreciate it. Yeah, as long as i got my arm rests and seat is good, and the truck runs when I hit the fuel, that's all i care about.

I run everywhere from Maine, down to florida......over to texas and up to Minnesota and everywhere in between. You will have stints where you will be stuck in the NE for a bit, then get out and drive south and mid west for a bit, it just depends on where the freight is. If you are on the 14/7 then your truck will be slip seat....I stay out 4-5 weeks at a time and then take 5 days off.

And as someone else mentioned....maint. will fix anything you ask them to. My driver's seat was a little nasty when I got the truck, I went to West Memphis to have something fixed and mentioned it to the mechanic, when I got my truck back I had a new seat. They don't care about cosmetics, but mechanic and driver comfort features will be fixed asap.

It took me a week to get a truck, because the driver that I got my truck from was getting a new truck, so i just waited till he got back and I took it. I could have went and recovered one earlier but chose just to wait, as my dbl knew this truck was coming in.

I have never been sent out there. Like I said, Texas up to Minnesota is the furthest west I have been.

If for some reason you do have to wait a few days to get a truck you will continue to get student pay. Not a lot but better then a swift kick.

They're doing their best to keep us off the west coast. Not enough freight or too low price. Not sure which.

I spoke with a team from Cali about a month ago. They said they got an extra 4 days at home because there were no loads.
