Hell,My 2011 does not have a built in GPS. The only hours the ECM on the truck records is total engine hours.
I'll run my loose leaf book until the very last day while you guys have to take a full 10 hours every night.....
I get my 2700 to 3000+ a week and am usually home on Thursday.........Am i legal on paper? Yep!
Would you quit if forced on eLogs?

Hmmmmm....So how much rest do you get?
Kinda sounds like an ex-poster here who pushed his guys to run 14-16 hours a day and show they took their "10".... -
EVERY night I turn off the ringer on my phone and go to sleep until I feel like getting out of bed, I run a bit over 3,300 miles a week and get a reset legally every week.
-
If I drove a company truck and was forced to run e-logs or a Volvo I'd quit....
If the outfit I'm leased to forced me to e-logs I'd quit and activate my authority again...fisher guy Thanks this. -
You want to meet him? He has the gd ticket! May be you want go to court
With him? Some are tring to warn others and others want to say bs
There is no danger? -
I don't doubt he has a ticket, but no ECM I'm aware of is capapble of recording position with GPS. More than likely the DOT bluffed him that they were going to check and he spilled his guts.

When i get tired i hit the bunk....Hell,I can't sleep for 10 hours straight even at home.
A 14 hour day is a cake walk......I have no dispatcher pushing me and keys to all my drop locations.Deliver anytime i want and sleep when i want.
I prefer to run hard and get it done. That way i have a 3 day weekend at least.
When we have to put E-logs on the truck they will get my keys.....Period!
Been doing this to many years to have a little box on the dash telling me what i can and can't do..TachItUp and fisher guy Thank this. -
I agree.....
What works for you....works for you....
Myself...I don't want the "Black box" either....But for a company driver....It might turn into a blessing.....
Because it accounts for all the hours they work......
When I worked construction....Many of the contractors would try to get the hands to "Donate"....Even the Union contractors would try to pull this...
That is....You worked for 10 or 12 hours and they would only pay for 8....
IMO....If you work 8 hours...You get paid 8 hours....
If you drive 2000 miles....You should get paid for those miles period....
None of this "donation" bull sheyat....
I used to keep written records of my hours, location, and who I worked for in a hard bound book.......
I would get shorted and take it up with the bosses....
Use to piss them off....But the records were there in "black and white" on paper.....Paper unless duplicated.....can get "misplaced"....
An ELog supposedly can't be changed....
I don't think O/O's should be forced to have EOBR since most get paid by the load anyway....
But the company drivers need proof positive to show what they did..... -
It has gotten me out of so many BS loads I used to have to pull cause of the lame excuses,,"Your the only truck avail",can u do me a fav,etc...NOPE
