Oklahoma Pike Pass?

    Yup. Two miles from my kids houses. I-35 is three miles. Maybe the no-PikePass thing won't be an issue.

    Oh the horror of paying for a toll that's less than $35, and the unbearable wait for re-imbursement on the next paycheck! How dare they make you keep and scan the receipt! How dare they!

    with the advance he just takes out at ATM. then does his PO and scans trip. if he took out 40 and the tolls were 35. the 35 is accounted for and the 5 is charged off his check as an advance as it is still in his wallet. no real paperwork issues. and I have never had an issue on weekends or middle of the night getting a PO.

    They actually mentioned this in class. They said our fleet does less then 4% of our miles through Oklahoma and that's why they didn't get the pass.

    And because getting to see my grandchildren in OKC as often as possible might not happen as much as I would like, hence the reason for reconsideration.

    In the grand scheme of things its an inconvenience for those that take hometime in OK. Could be worse with no reimbursement. Its payed back on the next check, if the paperwork is done correctly.

    I've heard other truckers complain their companies take a couple weeks for everything to get settled.

    When I go home to CA I've got to pay the toll to cross the Sacramento River on CA-160. Fortunately it's a one direction toll.

    Its only been about two years, but before that the Ohio Toll road didn't take EZPass.

    It's $16 bucks plus change from Joplin to Tulsa, and another $16 plus change from Tulsa to OKC.

    Big freakin' deal.

    You're GIVEN an advance ballance that's updated with every trip on your ComData card to deal with petty cash requirements. If that's not enough, you ask your dispatcher du jour to add some more. We do that every time we have to pay a lumper, and it is routinely added to that advance ballance - you write a Comcheck, get a receipt and add it to your trip report. THAT'S HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS THAT IS ROUTINELY REIMBURSED ON A WEEKLY BASIS!

    POs are issued automatically, reconciled weekly... and only the money that ends up in your pocket is deducted from your settlement. What is the friggin' big deal people? Prime handles this in a strictly routine matter. They never intentionally short us, and mistakes that you find are corrected on the next settlement.

    If this makes driving for Prime a non-deal, why don't you go drive for a carrier where they REALLY make this difficult... take weeks to reconcile if not actually ignoring requests for reimbursement. UNTIL YOU FIGHT FOR IT FOR WEEKS! Or maybe demanding that you PAY out of YOUR money ALL tolls... WITH NO REIMBURSEMENT!!! There are shlock carriers that do that stuff.

    Not at Prime. For cryin' out loud, you get reimbursed for EVERYTHING that is a legitimate business expense within ONE WEEK. EVERYTHING!!!

    On second thought, if y'all think that a carrier that does this stuff seamlessly, with hardly a bit of effort on your part - a seriously good carrier like Prime is in some way a bad actor, don't sign on with Prime. Go destroy your driving career at some worthless junk carrier that will make your life totally miserable, add insurmountably to the stress that you endure while on the road, and WILL keep you pennyless because if they are screwing you for peanuts, they will have no problem screwing you for big bucks as well.

    Well, that's all fine and dandy...until for whatever reason the scan doesn't take. It's fixed the next week, sure, but it sure made for some puckerups w/ the bills. And IF the load doesn't straddle cutoff (4pm CST, Tuesday).

    When I have the requisite rainy day fund back in place, I won't have ANY issues at all. But it's not there yet.

    DD, take some of your home time in OKC. No big issue.

    Well how in the hell else are they supposed to deal with petty cash needs for well over 6,000 drivers scattered across 48-states and Canada?

    HE GETS MONEY FOR THIS ABOVE AND BEYOND WHAT IS OWED TO HIM THROUGH HIS PAYCHECK! That is what an "advance ballance" is. If he is taking that money off of the ComData account and it is debited against his settlement - that's because its going in his pocket.
