I'm thinking the same thing. The guys I've talked to said Pioneer is big about only working 12hr shifts. So maybe the extra coin is to comp for lower hrs.
As for the Flow back guys, I've only gotten to talk to a few. I don't know what they make but that would drive me nuts! I saw one camped out for at least a week once...we Fraced three holes almost side by side...in an area with virtually no cell service!
Great jobs in Texas

Good luck Plater! I just did the same thing a month ago, packed everything I own and moved down to Louisiana and found a job hauling coke and crude. If you need to start fast you might want to stay away from crude at first, their hiring process is very long. Frac is much faster from what I understand. On that note, finished my training today on the coke side, start on my own Monday and will haul coke for about a month and then I will train for a week on crude. The company wants me to learn all of their driving operations (coke, crude and lube oil) so I can work wherever they need me if the need arises, but I'm going to be with the crude side day to day.

Cool, Welcome to Midland!
3 places of interest:
1788 in between Midland and Odessa. Just a mile or so south of hwy 191 and a mile or so north of hwy 191 is a small strip of oilfield related companies. A couple of them will post a sign needing CDL drivers.
Hwy 158 aka Garden City Hwy. Just East of I-20 heading east on 158 is a strip of oilfield related companies. A couple of these will run signs asking for CDL drivers.
I forget the street name of the next strip of companies. First out of your hotel get on Loop 250 headed west...it will turn South and dead end into I-20. Take a right almost like you're getting on the interstate headed west but stay on the service road. I'm guessing a few blocks you will see a road on he right. Take this road headed north until you come to a road on the left...I believe there is a small intersection....but long before you get to he railroad tracks. Anyhow, take the left which is a dead end road and you will see a couple oilfield related companies...Superior Well Services is a Frac company and on this road. I'm not sure if they moved to their new yard but Great White, another Frac company used to be next door as well as a wireline company.
Key Energy off Lemesa Hwy and I-20 in Staton Tx also keeps a sign posted for CDL drivers. It's about 13 miles East of Midland and just right off he interstate.Last edited: Nov 5, 2011

i noticed you been asking the same questions ever since i first discovered this site. I personally never asked one question, i just read and read and went and got myself a job.....meanwhile, 5 weeks into my job, you still ask the same questions.
What gives man? what the F are you waiting for? I ask this because you pm'd me, i wrote you a detailed letter and then it couldnt send because your mailbox is full. You like wasting people's time or something?
Make a hand or move on man lol.jvar4001 Thanks this. -
I've read so much great information on this forum that I'm having trouble keeping track of it all. This has probably already been answered, but how's the housing situation there? I know it's nowhere near as bad as ND, but should I consider bringing an RV with me for living quarters?
