Because Schneider wouldn't give the other 2,189 drivers the day off to honor themselves. Here's an idea GypsyWillowDusk72.......get a job.
I know atleast one. I have a good friend that hired on with them for their MIDWEST division......MIDWEST division......MIDWEST division.........MIDWEST division. His first load took him to Virginia......did I mention MIDWEST division? After that, for the next 3 weeks, he was stuck running freight from Georgia (MIDWEST division) to Connecticut (MIDWEST division).....right up to the point where he had to turn the truck in to the Carlisel, PA. (MIDWEST division) termanal....and rent a car to drive back to the MIDWEST. -
I worked for them for a year and have well over 2 million (before i joined them) and met a whole bunch with over 1 million.

one of the reasons I quit jbhunt after a few months. I was in the southeast division and found myself out in OK, Texas, OH, Penn........

Here's where much of my frustration comes in, with other drivers.
Southeast, midwest, northeast. What's the difference, so long as you get home when you're supposed to.
As a SE regional driver. I've went to Jersey, Laredo, Vermont and others. Always got home when I was supposed to with Schneider.
Miles are miles. HOME is home.gentleroger Thanks this. -
Boy you really ARE the "Village Idiot" aren't you (your own words under your screen name so I am NOT breaking forum rules).
A "Region" is not just the region you live in or are hired in......it is the REGION you are supposed to operate in.
If I am hired to run the midwest region.....I don't expect to be in New Jersey. If I am hired to run the northeast region, I don't expect to be in Iowa-----not too hard to figure out genius. -
I graduated CDL school last Friday and have the Secretary of State examiner Wednesday. So far pre-approved at Roehl, Wolding, Maverick and Schneider. Got hazmat, doubles, triples, Twic, passport and tankers. Thinking slip seating is the way to go since I avoid $100 per month parking someone else's machine. Leaves Roehl and Schneider. Schneider will take on a new graduate for tankers. What else should I be thinking about?

There are 2 primary reasons a person chooses regional in my area.
#1 Being they want to get home weekly.
#2 They want to insure they don't get stuck in 4 feet of snow.
I chose regional to be home on a regular schedule. My best friend chose regional, because he is terrified of driving in the snow.
I'm well aware of what a "true" regional job is. Very few of the majors offer these jobs.
I really don't care where I run. As long as I'm home when I'm supposed to be. With the miles/pay to go with it.

You'll make more "per mile" as a tanker. But, there is major opportunity in your area for Intermodal. Especially with that TWIC card
snowman01 Thanks this. -
Thanks for the advice, I'll get some experience and apply for intermodal. Seems everyone wants experience to run intermodal.
