New Guy Here

Hi everyone! I've been coming here reading up for a couple weeks now. I got layed off in September and drove locally for 5 years previously before that job. Since I was good at driving and loved it, I decided that trucking is an avenue I wanted to take. I start school on the 19th of this month and can't wait to get out on the road! I've seen a lot of great advice on here! Keep it coming!

 

Thanks! Just got back from my WIA intake meeting and got the payment vouchers for school. Can't wait to get started this month!

 

Quick update after week 1 of school...

Waited an hour and a half at the DMV the day before Turkey Day before finally taking my tests...

Passed everything with flying colors, including hazmat, doubles/triples, and tanker endorsements. Have pre-hires from a couple companies, including TMC (the one I want) and Werner (the bottom of the list).

Now comes yard training and backing starting Monday.
