Hello all. I recently started a new job driving a truck. The company is helping me get my cdl and I love being out getting to drive around to different parts of the area. I have a problem though. I can drive fairly well and have no problems on the pre trip out and in cab, however the backing especially parallel parking is giving me trouble. Any suggestions from some experienced folks here?

Welcome to the forums. You might try doing a search to see if you can come up with something on parallel parking because I'm sure you're not the only person to ever have trouble with it.

If you don't come up with something in the search, try posting any specific question in the Questions from New Drivers forum. My only suggestion is to give it more time and practice, practice, practice.

thanks dogknot. i did do a search and got some results. I also checked out some vids over on youtube as well. I have talked to a few seasoned drivers who have had their licenses for a while and they asked me the same thing I asked, "why in the hell would you ever want to attempt parallel parking a truck and trailer?" I know there is probably a scenario for it out there somewhere, but heck I had trouble passing the parallel park test in my car when I took the test for my drivers license years ago.
