If you check an industrial supply house you should be able to get a snubber to put in-line to stop the pulsations the cheap ones are just a brass plug that has a really small hole, that is pressed into the inlet of the gage. I would think it would work even better if installed closer to the engine.
I know this is not why yours is pulsating, just an easy way to fix it -
Here is a product that I have used in the past on some of my customer's trucks to dampen the indicator needle vibration, they are inexpensive and very simple to install.
Go to isspro.com (I cannot post links because of my low post count). They are a gauge manufacturer.
Then type the following into the search field on the isspro home page:
R7798
You should be immediately linked to the following product, which will cure your problem.
R7798 SNUBBER FUEL / AIR / OIL
Price: $33.24
There are even less expensive variations of this, however, I have found these to be the most accurate and reliable. Also, as mentioned on their website, they work for fuel, air and oil and come with 3 different size pistons that you change according to the type of liquid you are measuring.
Of course, a liquid filled gauge would negate the need for this part, but since you have already invested in the gauge you have, this will be a simple solution.
PM me if you would like me to send you a link to a page where you can see a picture of the snubber. -
thank you guys very much for all of the useful info I really appreciate it

Try a different evaluate. I put one in a freightliner in the last and it did the same factor. Got a different evaluate and task set.
