Hence the "never say or admit anything at an accident scene" advice. Nobody ever admits to being in the wrong place and it's always the other vehicle driver's fault. It was harrowing, to say the least. I'm glad you're not hurt.

    Cleg,
Glad you're fine. Let the insurance department worry about it all.

Clegg glad you are back on the road. Did you enjoy your 3 hour drive during rush hour traffic?

Setting at frog city LA tonight. Deliver to houston in the am. Then lets see what they do to get me home.

    This week 3100 miles @ 7.3 mpg

I was contacted by the recruiter from Stevens and i'm interested in going with them. But I was told that Stevens dont like to get u home. The guy i was talking to said his brother in law went with them as has been on the road for 3 months straight! this cant be true I mean i'm excited bout it and all but 3 months straight seems like that might be pretty extreme. Can u please tell me what I can expect. I am 30 had my class a license since 08' but only have straight truck experience. I want to do 6-8 months with Stevens then switch over to flat bed since flat bed is the whole reason I got into trucking.

Just wondering why recruiting needs W2 for job verification. I'm sure a few phone calls to the HR dept of said companies would confirm application. Also I know trucking companies do pretty extensive background checks and have interviews to make sure applicants are honest and upfront. Am I missing something here? I have nothing to hide, just don't want to bring my W2 to training and have my personal info just out there.... You know

W2 verify employment and income. If you are going to stevens Cdl school you are signing a loan that must be paid back and they need to know is the risk to them a good choice.

For cyberking you want flatbed check with maverick in arkansas a flatbed company that hires students.

    maverick77 Thanks this.

Hey Corporal Clegg. Just an FYI, Subrogate is that basically Stevens' insurance company pays the damages to the tractor/trailer out of their own pocket and then will go back after the other driver's insurance company to get reimbursed. I spent almost 9 years working in the insurance industry before getting laid off.
I went to Truck Driving School and I'm set to go for orientation with Stevens next week. I just hope all goes well. I've seen so much trash talking on this website about Stevens, but 98% of it just seems to be about the driving school.

Hey CyberKing. Besides Maverick out of Little Rock, AR, you also have McElroy out of Cuba, AL. They guarantee home every weekend. There is also MTC in De Moins, IA. They all take student drivers. I have heard mostly positive stuff on all three. McElroy turned me down but that's okay, I'm a happy Werner guy getting to drive all 48 and Canada, hey?

    Best of luck buddy,

    Doug
