Starting Prime PSD - November 8th

Figured I'd start a thread to keep things in one place. Anybody else here this week? (I know I'm early..)

I'm the "old" guy with the brown "Maine" baseball hat and the bear claw pendant. Drove down from Maine, since I'm planning on moving to the area and just hanging around waiting(that's truckin)...studying for the pre-trip! And YIKES they are bug fumigating the room 2 doors down from me...lol

 

LOL, right!

 

Ok. pre day 1 update. So far so good! Only 5 of us so far showed up with permits as of this afternoon. Got to spend about 4 hours on the Simulator!

I'm not right in the head, cuz I LOVED IT!! I missed a gear here or there, but I gotta tell ya, it felt good double clutching and grabbing gears again. Like riding a bike and I know being in a real truck again will be better then the sim.

And I loved doing the back-up. It was like I had just been off the road a few months. Mike the sim trainer did load me up on one tho, extra plane crashes, zero-vis fog, snow but thankfully no tornados.

Sitting in the room, listening to my roomy snore, studying pre-trip. I CANNOT wait for the morning! I'll keep ya'll posted, g'night!

 

Quick Day 1 Mid-day update. Whew! Fast paced, hectic and crazy morning! Tried to be a step ahead with everything so as not to have to wait in line. Passed the physical(WHEW! I'm "old"...lol). Passed the interview, got my temp ID card(I think?) Lotta folks going for sleep studies(my snoring roomie is one)! Only got about 4 hours sleep...lol.

So I'm free until 4:00. Gonna go troll around see if I can't find an instructor...Update later!

 

Another quickie update. Had a few peeps sent home first thing this AM on DOCUMENTS! Make sure you have everything that is required in the format required. Birth Certificate, name change legal documentation, etc. There was one guy who changed his last name at marriage to that of his wife's(don't ask). They were "discussing" it when I left the room.

A few left voluntarily when security gave the speech about the drug test. 1 or 2 have just "disappeared"(not sure what's up with that).

Quite a few out on medical issues, undiagnosed BP problems etc. Quite a few(10-20?) going for sleep studies.
Got 2.5 hours till I have to report for duty, so back to studying pre-trip! So far so good. I am VERY glad I choose Prime! First class, business first company. Just what I was looking for!!!
