Sirius radio - Anyone have a permanent install?

I've got my Alpine set up with the original 2002 antenna sticky taped to the cabs roof with the wire fed through one of the cab clearance light holes. Never had a problem except areas where it's to be expected. My wife's 2010 Murano with factory XM loses signal alot near downtown Orlando, always in the same spot, so I don't blame the unit for it. It's probably time for a new antenna for you though.

 

I noticed a huge improvment when I went to this style of antenie. I drive a 770 so the condo sleeper is pretty high and without the taller mounting bracket I was not clearning the top of the truck when I would be pointing to the NW. It also made it so I can now recieve reception when going threw the gorge in Oregon.

Also remember the satillite is located over the central gulf region. So in areas in the far NW, and far NE its much easier to loose reception. Exspecialy in the NW with the tall woods.
