    im starting to hear lots of stations from the east coast of usa in my radio looks like solar cycle 24 is strating to peak its been a good few years since i heard 2 division members channel 38 lsb

    And should be getting even better. Current stats are:
    SSN = 46 for November, but the SF (solar flux) is up to 182.
    Propagation software predicts SSN of 68 for Nov 2012, and SSN of 75 for Nov 2013.
    Heard some African stations this morning, and South Korea last night on 10 meter.

    Would it be safe to say,Talking any distance local is as good as forgotten for atleast another year? I do enjoy talking skip every now and then but, This nine pounds of everyone talking at once is terrible.

    More like 5-6 years during the fall,winter and early spring then there is the "summer skip" season (sporadic E) which regardess of the solar cycle.
