Golden Corral is NOT a truck stop but I thought ...

I gave up on Golden Corral after my 2nd bout of food poisoning.

 

Ive never been there but from the many rave reviews you guys have been giving about the bonus free salmonella with every meal I cant wait to just get right over there and dive in with the rest of the unwashed hands. Yum cant wait!

 

Not really truck parking, it's just a street.

Golden Corral in laurinburg NC has truck parking. Well, it sits in front of an abandoned Winn Dixie and trucks are almost parked in the lot. US hwy 74 to US15/401 north, to second light. ON RIGHT. Directly across from Walmart Store. about 20 miles off I95 exit 17(i think) maybe exit 14..lol...since the bypass was finished I dont remember which is which..lol..about 10 miles from Campbell Soup Co. in maxton NC

 

That one in Gallup NM tore up myself and my co-driver a few years ago. Wouldn't say I got full blown "check into the hospital" food poisoning, but it'll sure clear out the baffles. Ya know....I don't ever think I've left a Golden Corral saying " that was a good choice...glad we ate there".

I'm sure that if you use that disinfectant on the food before you eat it, you should be OK.

It's like a lot of others. What you get will depend entirely on the store you are at. Some are very good, some not so good, and some just plain terrible.

Which is interesting. The GC in Pueblo CO actually questioned me about the senior discount once. I slapped my DL down and told her to do the math. Then never went back again. And I had been a fairly steady customer of that particular store, up to that point.

 

If you would have posted ANY,,Fill in the Blank name of a place to eat you would get same ,,,"I got the Scoots" there

I Myself enjoy (many times) a great meal at the old Golden Corral,wish every truck stop had one in it

Hell Almost everytime I go to Laredo you will find me there,,but hey dont take my word for it,,i know it aint no "place that delivers"
Take the following places:

CHinese(your "flaming,Golden Dragon,etc...) all they do when you order is go out to the BUFFET LINE and fill your order

Pizza: Any Pizza place that caters a large part of their "BizNazz" to truckers makes them ahead of time,,ala the "specials" they sit on the stove top

Truck Stops Buffet: Food is prepared HOURS before serving on Buffet Line,stored in warmers.

Good rule of thumb when it comes to Buffets,,Gut Trucks,,go to really busy one,at the busiest time(food is constantly being refreshed and thus cant go bad)

And oh yeah last time I got what i like to refer as,,"Trucker Flu", the Scoots,Food poisoning,,well it was in Nashville right down from our terminal,,Popeyes chicken,,lost 25 lbs in 3 days,,fun times

 

Golden Corral will be considered a truckstop now. They'll be overflowing with 500 pound sweathogs posing as vets so they can attack the chocolate fountain for free.
