That's why I knew I had to "Lower" in quotations when we talk about quality. I was basing quality on buy back value, customer service, reputation, respect, appearances ( you've gotta admit the beauty in long square nose, 290 wheel base, chromed up.). By quality I mean a company that will put more money into their trucks but offer a few less cpm based on higher paying companies with less expensive trucks. Sorry for the confusion. Older trucks that have been well maintained definitely are high quality in my books!

Thanks for that clarification! Now I can make a legitimate post here.

I never had to have the latest or greatest. I didn't care if I drove a long nose or a snub nose. As long as it was in good condition and properly maintained. THAT is what I cared about. Other than that, give me the money.48Packard, SHC, otherhalftw and 2 others Thank this. -
I would say no but depends on what your running. Running local no it's not as important running long haul it can be. But I started with a company that had purty shiny pete's that were breaking all the time and now I drive a 07 columbia at a different company, make more per mile and it runs great but not as pretty.
NSteinbecker Thanks this. -
Now if we were to start talking a difference in say creature comforts (apus, inverters, space) I will sacrifice a little pay for my comforts. It may not sound like much, but even a company including something as minor as satellite radio in their trucks is a nice little addition.
I love the looks of a w900 or or 379, even a square nose Freightliner over the short sloped noses. However, those things don't pay the bills, and the longer wheel bases can make some places a real PITA.NSteinbecker and 48Packard Thank this. -
As long as the vehicle is properly maintained, I don't care if it's old or new.

Haha, I definitely needed to clarify! My bad!

Who?
I can't think of any company that's all Peterbilt in EPT except AN Webber. -
I can't pay my bills with a "sweet" looking ride the bank only accepts money

So yes I will take money over a sweet ride... Now if the amount isn't a huge signification amount then sure I will take a little cut in pay to drive a nice ride..
Now this is assuming were just talking about a looks aspect... If we are talking comfort as well then I would take a cut in pay to have comfort.. Like 2 companies 1 pays more but has no a/c, heat for cab etc... and other one pays a little less but has all that then I will do with the lower paying company..NSteinbecker Thanks this. -
Any company that docks your pay to drive a newer truck is a company not worth driving for, in my opinion.
As much as you guys rag on bottom feeders, I just transferred trucks. Now I'm driving a 2012 crapcadia which had a grand total of 16 miles on the odometer when I got in it. My pay didn't get docked.Skunk_Truck_2590 and NSteinbecker Thank this. -
NSteinbecker, Let me tell you this my friend, Does not matter what you drive. Selling yourself to a company, will require as many years of service, NO Accidents, NO tickets, ECT, Will get you TOP PAY. Insurance companies hire drivers, not the company. The company will not want a High Premium on the insurance bill, They want to pay the least amount.Skunk_Truck_2590 and NSteinbecker Thank this.
