I'm not putting words in your mouth. Lets look at YOUR words that YOU wrote.

You agree with the OP. Fine so lets look at what the OP wrote that you're agreeing with.
The OP says maps are the way to go. You say you agree with the OP. Then you say its because a GPS won't know about exits that closed yesterday. So how did I put words in your mouth exactly?

A gps replaces the road atlas maps and all state and city maps and inCludes all the small towns that dont have maps. And the maps are updated every 3 months. The truckers atlas does have vailuble information that the truck specific gps includes.

Only an idiot will punch in an address and blindly follow the gps route. One must use their own eyes and brain.

While I agree that a GPS can be more up to date than a map, it is also true that they aren't 100% accurate. Use all the tools in the toolbox, but don't use a hammer when you need a screwdriver.

The hammer is for when every other tool fails.

While a paper map has never put me down a dirt road between corn fields, it's sure led me to a few low bridges!

When the only tool you have is a hammer, all of your problems are nails!
