The OP says maps are the way to go. You say you agree with the OP. Then you say its because a GPS won't know about exits that closed yesterday. So how did I put words in your mouth exactly?

A gps replaces the road atlas maps and all state and city maps and inCludes all the small towns that dont have maps. And the maps are updated every 3 months. The truckers atlas does have vailuble information that the truck specific gps includes.
Only an idiot will punch in an address and blindly follow the gps route. One must use their own eyes and brain. -
