Well, yeah, they get brakedown, but from what I remember, that will barely cover the expenses for the week. If it does even that much. (Given that trainee pay is part of their expenses.)

He won't be getting charged trainee pay while he is broken down. He only gets charged for the miles the truck runs (i.e., the truck runs 4000 miles in a week, the trainer pays 4000x0.12, and Prime covers the rest of the guarantee, unless the reason the truck didn't run 5000 miles was hometime). I don't know how brakedown pay works for a team, but as far as layover goes, I know if you're team the rate is higher. If I'm getting layover as a solo, it covers my fixed cost, if I'm team and getting layover, I usually end up making about $100/day off of the layover.

I get my 600.00 a week. Plus they pay for the hotel. First thing I did when I got here was stock the fridge so expenses wouldn't be to high. My biggest expense so far was the car rental but that wasn't really a nessesity just something I wanted to do.

Yeah, what the trainee gets wasn't in question. :biggrin_25522: The issues for the L/O is what I was interested in. Not that JCW will ever train. Unless for some ungodly reason, he manages to convince me to drive. I hate driving. Period. Watching me back up the stock trailer would give you guys such a fit of the giggles that I'd have to worry because you would all be crying you would be laughing so hard....

It's not as bad as you would think. Shorter trailers turn faster than longer trailers. I believe you would be a better driver than JCW once you get the right training.:biggrin_25519:

Thanks DenaliDad, I've been going through several of the Prime threads for the last couple of months and for the most part everyone seems pretty satisfied with the company.

I got PM's back from IP and KingsSon but still can't respond to them until I have 7 posts in the forum (Thanks guys). I thought if I received a PM, I would be able to respond but that doesn't seem to be the case. I have a hard time posting something just for the sake of hearing (or seeing) myself talk.

Be safe out there and will keep you updated.

JCW is stopped for his 10 somewhere in I-40 between Nashville and Memphis. Finishing the run to Van Buren will finish his 70 in the morning.
