I can understand Florida, but we move a lot of freight to and from North Carolina and Illinois. My guess would be due to the high volume of freight in these areas they don't want trucks that keep going home in between loads.
Any other guesses?

It has something to do with transferring your license that you get in California, Georgia, or Utah to the state that you live in. Call the recruiter back and ask them if you already have your license will they hire you. The answer may be different.

According to the driver manual on page 50 moving the 5th wheel moves 400 lbs with each notch. If you are sliding the 5th wheel toward the cab you will also add pounds to the steers. Company steer axle rating is 12,350 according to the manual, based on the tires they put on the truck. Some states do not allow more than 12,000 but my Prostar is 12,380 on the steers with an empty trailer and 5th wheel all the way back and I have never been tagged.sweetdaddy915 Thanks this.

Except in NC they send you to FTA for training. However, I know if you love east of the 95 corridor nobody will hire you.. Well somebody might, but it will be tough..

LadyK and I will be leaving her fleet after Thanksgiving (at least that is the plan) because the way Central is starting to structure it's self. It seems that the drivers on the dedicated fleets are getting first shot at the loads with any miles on them. Example. A Dole driver takes a load from California to NC. To get that truck back to Dole in CA. that truck will get first shot at long loads that will get them back.
That leaves what ever is left for the ones of us that are not running dedicated fleets.
Klingon & ladyk sorry to hear you are thinking of leaving vickis fleet. I did the same about 2 months ago. Vicki is great but there is only so much she has control over. I ended up getting on dole dedicated and love it. The people at dole are great. California is just about done for dole though maybe 1 more week left then its off to arizona. I was not sure how i would like going thesame places all the time, but i have to addmit it is great. You learn very quick were to stop or not stop. Ex. Russels travel center i40 in new mexico exit 369 very nice people plus they hav a claasic car musseum. Getting back to what you said about dedicated having priority over otr. I'm Not sure about the other dedicated fleets, but dole has there own accounts for the return trip back west. But if there is any problem or delay yes I think we do get priority over Otr. Anyway good luck to both of you and hope to see you out there.Lady K Thanks this. -
Side note is anyone here running airtabs on their truck? I've heard they really help in the wind.
Lady K Thanks this.
