They claim you can use it as a debit card at walmart. I haven't been brave enough to try. Most of the time a truck stop will cash your comcheck if you get fuel, otherwise take the hit at the atm and get it out there.

Dude if you're going to covenant they have direct deposit, you can have your money put in your checking account. Otherwise they will issue you a Comdata card, that you will use for your fuel (primarily).
If your pay is put on it, then, like TJ said, you can write a comcheck off your balance and cash it at the fuel desk (preferably when you fuel, that way you don't get charged a fee). And if you use it as a debit card (which it will work as) get ready to pay some MONSTER fees (at least using it for a purchase, as opposed to using it in an ATM).

Use it just like a regular debit card. ComData only charges 50 cents per use. If your fees are higher, it's because your company is hitting you for the charges. (Another way to steal from you)

I used mine in 100's of places, as long as the store displays the "Cirrus" logo. They will accept it.

Using it at an ATM, you get hit with the regular ATM fees plus the 50 cents.

Other users please note, ComData charges $ 1.00 to register/cash a comcheck. If you are being charged more. It is because YOUR company set it up like that, to recover some of their cost. Truckstops have their own fees as well. My bank has never charged me a dime for cashing/depositing a ComCheck.
