The contract is computerized. Each portion of the lease agreement is explained to you in detail before you sign it. You can go back and review a particular part of the contract as many times as you want before you sign it.
CRE does loose money when a IC quits. I was a relief/recovery driver for a few months so I understand this part of a business. When a IC quits and abandons a truck, CRE would have to pay drivers like me to recover it and bring it back to a terminal. A standard Freightliner lease is 3 years. That truck may sit at a terminal for at least 6 months before another driver gets behind the wheel of the truck. That's lost revenue. Not to mention, the revenue lost for truck repairs.
It's a safe bet to say that 99.9999999999999% of IC failures are self-inflicted. Drivers just don't do enough homework before signing a lease. The only thing CRE does wrong is not educate drivers enough. BUT, education costs money.
I stand by my statement of every DM has their favorite drivers. It doesn't matter if they like their job or not. A DM's favorite driver is a driver that doesn't create alot of headaches. A driver that is actually willing to do what they get paid to do, which is haul freight from point A to point B safely.

Explain the .14 cent per mile "Variable Mileage" payment they take that they won't or can't explain.
They are also being sued for that same payment for all IC's that are currently or have ever driven for them will be contacted, anybody curious PM me I have the Law Office and the phone # who is heading the class action suit.
Favorite driver or not that is a lot of money and more miles means more taken out, good driver or not that is a matter everyone needs to check out ask all you want for a breakdown of where that money goes it wont be provided.AfterShock Thanks this. -
Again, read your contracts folks. This job isn't rocket science. If you're still a IC at England, a copy of your contract is in your permit book. A judge is just going to look at the lawsuit and laugh at you before they toss it.AfterShock Thanks this. -
Now. Regarding solos not being able to exceed 3,000 miles in a week. My question: Why not? I exceed that number on a fairly regular basis, legally and easily. 3K miles is only 500 miles/day for six days. You're submitting that a single driver cannot go over that?that's only about 9.5 hours of work...in California and Oregon, no less.
I know it will take you a week to answer this, seeing you're taking a brief vacation, but I will be looking for it when you return.daywalker24, RickG, AfterShock and 1 other person Thank this. -
1200 a week lease payment! Thats why the break even point is more than yours!
Half of which almost has to be pure profit for cre! 4800 month for truck
Payment! Am a trainer at my carrier and its sad when I need to train cre's
Runaways! 12 cpm training pay? Then one never got his increase!
Put him to work with more miles, almost 3 times his rate and home
Weekends! He was never late... clean dac, if he was punished at cre
Would they not note his dac? Have had several say they (cre) make more
Leasing trucks than moving freight!Injun and AfterShock Thank this. -
1200 a week lease payment!! ouch how much gold does the truck have on it? Thats like $$$187000 for 3 years and you don't own it. That is if you make it.
AfterShock Thanks this. -
You can be assured that for all that they make monthly off the lease & everything with it that multiple trucks are paid for with every lease.
Secondly, any company that tells me that "YOU CAN'T TAKE THE CONTRACT OUT OF ROOM" so you can have an atty or CPA look at the terms, well I would tell them...he's your contract & shove it where the sun don't shine.
Any logical person would know that doing that garbage, is that they know the contract is NOT legit and is a ONE SIDED rip off contract.Rollover the Original and zentrucking Thank this. -
Have had to train one of their trainers! 6 mont
hs is not enough time. He made more as a trainee
Then he did training??? -
Any BFI that tells you that you can't have a legal representative to read this LEGAL DOCUMENT and explain the spots where you WILL be screwed is not someone I would even pee on if they were on fire!
It's a legal document. Not many of you out there have the working knowledge to understand that the placement of a period or comma and whatever theses are{[}]:; can make a big difference as can the spelling of why, wherefore and other "legal use" words!
NEVER EVER sign a legal piece of paper unless you understand it in their context! ESPECIALLY a FLEECE on a truck!
As I said not very many of you can even spell or write knowledgeably in here but you think you can understand these ripoff leases? Get real and if they say NO about getting your lawyer to read it then look at their arse and as you are standing there rolling it up nice and tight and hand it to them and tell them this should fit and let them watch your arse walk out the door and open the one to your car as you leave! At least I HOPE you drove there as they darn sure aren't going to buy you a bus ticket home! A hint I have put in many threads over the few years I have been a member of TTR...NEVER ride a bus or plane to orientation unless you have the money to ride or fly back home! Drive you own car or P/U there and have a guaranteed ride home! Besides I hate Greyhound as half the people stink from no shower, smoking, or a bad gas problem and their kids WILL make you crazy! I'll drive my own there thank you! This is another reason that I do NOT sign any applications for a company more than 200 miles away from my home!drvrtech77 Thanks this. -
This thread amuses me. CRE is crap. Period. I have close friends who experienced their lease trap first hand. Hell, just look at all the other threads about people who have been bent over and raped by that company. I am shocked that anyone is actually defending them.
You know how quickly they make their lease-ops into "Phase 2" trainers? 10 days. Its the blind leading the blind, and I think that in itself says everything that needs to be said about CRE.sdaniel Thanks this.
