Some days it just doesn't pay...
Stopped at the TA in Santa Rosa,NM last night for fuel. Decided I would run another couple hours, but went to the back dirt lot to turn around.
It all looked dry, but apparently it's surface only.
Two hours later the tow truck got me winched out.
Then he winched three other trucks that were in the same mess.
I ended up staying the night.
Now my drives and the back of the truck look like I've been 4 wheeling.
An no time to stop for a wash.
    Bleah!

Couldn't bribe ya for that load with a few TA points and a Love's card with 4 showers on it could I? :biggrin_2559:

I'm here in Jackson, GA working with my DM to get me home by Wednesday night. He's trying his darndest but striking out. Had 2 repowers lined up but both drivers respectfully declined (can't say I blame them...giving up 2500 miles is hard to do).

This happened to me in Eustis ME., 4th week solo. I paid the wrecker bill myself :biggrin_25510: I did not want the company to know because they would of listed it as a preventable incident, and I wanted to keep my record clean with them. How does Stevens handle these types of incident's??

No bribe needed. You will have to catch me though. In shreveport LA for the night.

And yes it is hard to give up a 2000 mile run.

I hate dirt lots just for that reason. So the mascot racks up another incident.
    :biggrin_25523:

The take you out to a dirt oval and make you race a Swiftie with an underpowered truck.
Actually, since I'm Alliance, they just charge me for the tow.
Harold will just roll his eyes
I'll get a meritorius stripe under my arm patch.

    60MPH Thanks this.

Emptied out here in San Leandro. Beginning to rain, so maybe some of this mud will wash off?
Pick up here at 1900 tonight, heading to Denton for a sunday afternoon delivery.

Questions: When I last spoke with a Stevens recruiter, he said the T2000's were being replaced by the new T700's. Is that happening? Is it a better truck than the T2000? Is it "roomier" than the T2000 which is what KW's website says? Is 8 mpg a reasonable estimate? Do all Stevens' trucks still have APU's?
