Newest plantronics model is the Voyager pro HD. Just ordered one from Amazon.com for $99 w/free shipping and no sales tax. It's claim to fame is that it has built in sensors that know when it is on your ear. What that allows it to do is this:
    1. you can answer a call simply by putting it on, 2. If you have it laying around and the phone rings, you don't have to scramble to find it... because it automatically disconnects when you are not wearing it. 3. you can put it on or take it off in the middle of a call and it will automatically connect or disconnect from your phone, no pushing buttons or anything. THis is a huge benefit because now you can walk around with it in your pocket and if you get a call you can easily choose to slip it on to answer the call or just use your phone.

I owned a full headset Blue parrot for years and loved it. I just got tired of a full headset. I have owned the plantronics Voyager Pro for 1.5 years now and just ordered the Voyager Pro HD model. It is not as good as the Blue parrot for noise cancelling or volume (no small bluetooth could match a full headset for these things) but it is good enough for me.

The advantages of the plantronics voyager Pro line is:
    1. Not a full headset, 2. Comfort, 3. I don't mind wearing it when I am out of the truck or at home, 4. Battery life better than any other small bluetooth out there

Check out reviews like those at CNET or PCMAG and you will find Plantonics Voyager Pro HD and the new Jawbone on all the "Editors Choice" lists for best bluetooth.

I have owned both the blue parrot (currently) and the Plantronics Pro (went through 3 of them in one year) For some reason they just quit working for me or they wont take a charge. Ask a driver one day what kind of bluetooth that he was using and he said "blue parrot". Granted that the blue parrot is more bulky and uncomfortable then a regular blue-tooth earpiece, but they are built better then the jawbones and I never had a problem with it. And with a phone charger hook to your phone in the truck, you talk time is 16 hours before the blue parrot needs be charge. I never ran my battery down on the blue parrot. As far as comfort, I dont wear them unless I am on the phone, I usually hang them on the parking brake valves when not in use.

Plantronic I have too and is the best I had in years. I think I spend over 1000$ testing ear pieces and this Plantronics is just amazing.
I was curious about the new Blue Parott. Is not as ugly as the old model and I've seen can be used in all kind of positions(overhead, or on the ear, or behind the head etc).
Anyone have the new model to share some feedbacks ?

The Plantronics Pro series. I use the Plantronics Pro+. The amount of talk time and battery life is outstanding. The clarity of my conversations to the listener, even while driving, is superb....most have no idea that I'm using a bluetooth headset. The noise cancellation filters work very well. The initial 'pairing' from the Plantronics to my cell phone was super easy. I have absolutely nothing but good things to say about the Plantronics Pro+.

Yeah, I thought the Blue Parrot was great too when I first bought it because it was actually the first Bluetooth I could hear out of & folks didn't complain about my background noise. Admittedly being female I wasn't crazy about looking like an alien life form while talking on the phone but it was nice not having to worry about losing the Bluetooth when tarping & strapping some of my flatbed loads which led me to believe it was gonna be a fantastic device.....right up until the time it bit the dust, exactly one month past the warranty. Wasn't THAT convenient? Think I'll give this Bose a try!

I have the Aliph Jawbone Era. It is awesome. It's very small and the sound is superior. It has military grade noise assassin (noise cancel). I have not had any problems. I love it. I got mine from Ebay for $100. It retailed for $180.

Man I love my Jawbone. It hasn't done that with me yet. I used some cheap ear pieces before for around $30 or $40. NO COMPARISON! :biggrin_25525:

My first Blue Parrott is still going after 3+ years though I did replace the battery for one on Ebay.. I returned 3 new ones from no volume to people saying it sounded real scratchy.. I think they made a quality product and when the word went out they swapped for cheap crappy components.
Plantronix is NASA's choice it went to the moon.

I have the Plantronics Voyager Legend. 7 hours talk/ 11 standby. Right over the ear and a small mic on it. Not a bad Bluetooth by any means, lots of little things that it does as well. Pretty comfortable as well. The cons are the charger it comes with, it's magnetic and short. Way short. And if you lose it, you have to order another online because you can't find it. Also it's a little thick over the ear and makes wearing sunglasses difficult. I don't think it's loud enough for a truck either. The biggest pro is the charging case that you can buy for it. Plug it in, charge it, and it'll give a quick charge to your unit, even when it's not plugged in.
