Probably because they're sick and tired of cleaning up after the slob truckers who've parked there after unloading at the WM DC up the road in New Albany.

I call Walmart's where I want to shut down and usually get routed to a manager. I've yet to be turned down. Be professional, polite, and, of course, mention that you need to shop at their store.

Walmart #5155 at exit 140 off of I-10 in Las Cruces, NM allows truck parking. I used to work there and the rules haven't changed WARNING! don't enter the lot on Hickory Dr, the first intersection you approach as you head East from the interstate. The road is marked No Thru Trucks. Go to the next light at Valley, turn right and then right again at the next light (Rigsby Rd). The NM DOT sometimes hides in the Best Western Inn parking lot waiting for drivers to disregard the sign on Hickory. One morning when I worked there, the DOT wrote up nearly every vendor in a big truck delivering to our store. It's a $72 ticket.

I never took a 10-hr break at a Wal-Mart. But have stopped in at a few to do some shopping. Most notable is the Wal-Mart on Normandy Blvd. in Jacksonville, FL.

I have a list of various stores (Wal-Mart, K-Mart, etc) that are within walking distance from a truck stop. In fact, as I type this, I'm in a small truck stop in Marysville, MI, with a Meijer across the street. Another one to add to the list.

Truck parking in all Walmarts were NEVER intended for a legal break, they put them in so truckers could SHOP & Leave, but as usual truckers take advantage and ruin a good thing then complain when there is not anymore parking,,my favorite example of this is Winslow AZ,virtually a brand new Walmart right beside a Large truckstop and lazy ### truckers park where? in Walmarts parking lot:biggrin_25525:

One of the biggest problems, drives create and don't realize is blocking the road view to the store. Stores are real big on being seen from the road, yet drivers want to park out front.

I'll take my ten at them. I flag down security and I always get the green light. They always tell me where they like rigs to park, so I oblige. I always shop there so I get restocked while I'm there.

I always first ask security if I'm good to park and ask if there's a certain area to park. I do a lot of walmart runs with knight... That may help

Fairmont, MN is a no go, I've shopped there but in a hurry.

Lake Delton, WI has a common lot with Home Depot, they let you park there if you ask, at least they did last winter.

I stop at the one in Bloomington, IL and shop.

The big thing with any of them is follow the truck routes and ask if it's going to be more than long enough to shop.

Ever been to a shipper or receiver wont let you park there and the only place to park isv a Walmart? Or is it only the "lazy drivers" that have that problem?

Where do you suggest they park? On the road?
