    Rogueunh,
    Sorry about not responding to your PM recently. I apparently did not have the required number of posts to respond privately. Yes I finally did get hired. Took a bunch of time and a lucky break.

    The 1 i took most recently was a series of colors at the bottom of the chart. The previous 1 was colored numbers inside of pixelated circles.

    The one I took in San Antonio was 3" red, yellow, green squares on an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of white paper. The "test" was to say the location and name of the color, e.g., "red, upper right".

    Very few people are actually color blind. What I hope you are referring to is not being able to see the numbers in those books of circles that have colors in them, and have what is called a color defect. The FEDERAL requirement is that you can distinguish between the colors red green and amber. However some clinics use these books to test. If they do and you can't read those numbers the examiner is NOT LEGALLY required to pass you as fit to drive. In this case go find a clinic that does it by the Federal Guidelines.

    This right from the FMCSA website

    (10) Has distant visual acuity of at least 20/40 (Snellen) in each eye without corrective lenses or visual acuity separately corrected to 20/40 (Snellen) or better with corrective lenses, distant binocular acuity of at least 20/40 (Snellen) in both eyes with or without corrective lenses, field of vision of at least 70° in the horizontal Meridian in each eye, and the ability to recognize the colors of traffic signals and devices showing standard red, green, and amber;

    Thanks for the help guys. Now I feel much more comfortable to pass the color test. I sent an email to my recuriter, and he said he has to double check for the color blind thing and will get back to me on Monday.

    I am from the state of GA. Now with the DOT test there is nothing about being color blind. BUT when I have to get my CDL From the dmv They do test it there.
