nope, did not:biggrin_25517:.. was considering going in June, but still not sure.. i want to get out of van because there's not really alot of work involved, and it seems to be even less work involved in food grade so i'm still on the fence.

So much for comparisons it seems like the health insurance is kinda lacking. i'm paying high seventies low eighties a week for medical, dental, and vision for me and my wife (i only care about the vision).

i know everyone and their mama plus two goats will choose a ball of cotton over Knight. Knight has one skitty rep for some odd reason. But it's all in the eye in the beholder.. A person has to weigh it all out.. While i have cheaper benefits, i get paid less.. the extra $ you make, you can use to subsidize that loss.

we have quarterly safety bonus, it's .02 of all miles you ran that quarter, i got my first one the beginning of this month and it was $500 and some change. The down side is that it's hard to get it mainly because you have to run 28000 miles in the quarter, not get suspended or put on probation, and be in the top 70% of csa. And since we do alot of short miles, you really have to be pushing it .

Rider policy is anyone in immediate family.. like anyone that birth you, or you birth and or can call the same people mother/father.. i dont know what vacation pay is, but i know we get a week after a year of employment.

we get detention (doesn't count for nothing) and we get lay over but i dont know how that works since all of my resets have been done either at the house or while under load.

we have unappealing equipment, we haul unappealing freight, and we go to unappealing parts of the country.. our terminals tend to treat outside drivers like we either have the plague or the "clap", and the shops treat outside drivers like a floating ATM machine. each terminal operates different so if you've never been there, then YOU'VE NEVER BEEN THERE. and if we have 100 dispatchers, then maybe 15 are worth their weight in pubic hairs.

so is Knight a skitty company? that's rolling dice.. but from a financial stand point, it seems a little better then others.

while i can sit and say it's not bad, i'm sure there's thirty somewhere else that can write a book on how bad it is..

Its a very VERY differant kind of driveing job OK!

The pay so,so if your running its good the deadheading is unreal so to me that makes ez work.
And if you are not a push over like alot of IRT drivers Its good ok home time has always been my thing you can just take off,go home from the yard............................................... oh forget it Ive said all this b4 just read back a few pages....

One of the reasons I applied to irt was to get away from reefer. Reefer and flatbed are the two worst driving jobs, hands down. I've done both and will never go back to either one. *knock on wood*

Only those who have worked for irt are qualified to comment on whether it's a good or bad company. Fact is, every company has its quirks. If you're looking for a perfect job, you might as well throw your cdl away right now because you're looking for a figment of your imagination. There is no dream job in trucking. What makes one company better than another is entirely dependent on who you ask. Period.

Don't like waiting? Go work in the drive thru at Mcdonalds. I don't like waiting any more than anyone else but it beats the #### out of sliding tandems, trying to bump a dock at 4am when you're half asleep, spending the day at the thermo king shop, and dealing with arse wholes at grocery warehouses, to name a few.

Think knight's a better company? Great! Go drive for them. Then come back and ask me if I give a flying ####

That was directed at Seriously4571 by the way. I can't stand people who bad mouth companies they've never even worked for. If youve never worked for a company then all you have to go on is what you read on the internet. If youre the kind of person who makes decisions based on something you read on the Internet, you've got bigger problems to worry about than how good or bad Irt is. Come here and do what I do for a while THEN come back and run your mouth.

wasn't tryin to talk skittles, bad mouth, or put down IRT, i was just comparing with the info posted. i dont hate Knight, but there are things i would rather not have to deal with.. there's things that IRT has that i'd really want.. like it's location, it's only five miles from the apartment, better equipment and better pay.
