Ok so I've been offered a job pulling flatbeds for a company that doesnt normally train people to flatbed but are temporarily doing it.
Anyway .42cpm, was told 2500-3000 miles a week, 65mph truck, No EZPass or Pre-Pass, 13 and 18spds, Petes (379/389/386/387). BUT then they told me they are switching to E-Logs at the 1st of the year.
I'm against e-logs, but this seems like a good opertunity......
Would useing E-Logs make it or break it for you? even if its a good job

Thanks, i'm kinda hopeing y'all can talk me into this lol. I dont like the idea of the computer being up my A$& all day but it COULD be a good paying job for allot less work then im doing now.

I personally wouldn't take another job with E-Logs unless I had to as I hated it but you have to do what's best for yourself.
If it's a big improvement and E-Logs aren't a make or break deal then go for it. -
Elogs aren't that bad. It only talks to you if you have less than an hour drivetime. Atleast mine does...
-
That Elog will be a "butt-saver" and a "back-up" when you go to shippers/receivers who think that an 0700 appointment gets you loaded or unloaded at 1500.....
-
how do you figure?
why do they care about my logs? I'm the one thats going to have to get a violation to get to the truck stop to restart my 10 right?
American Trucker -
Detention pay for one.....If you have absolute proof (Your log) that shows you parked at say 0630 for an 0700 appointment and the shipper/receiver didn't get to you until the afternoon....You have absolute proof that you upheld your end of the contract.....
-
and if you dont get detention pay?
that doesnt change your log violation....

A little trick some driver use with elogs is after logging arrived at shipper/receiver you go to line 1 stops the elog clock.
